I just thought of this. Could there be mercury in cod liver oil?

That's the only fish we consume in our vegetarian household.

& & & & & & & &

With the huge and growing amount of emissions of mercury

from coal burning and incinerators, and effluent with mercury due to

amalgam fillings; there is increasing levels of mercury in both

freshwater and saltwater fish. And mercury accumulates in the liver,

where CLO comes from. So it depends on where the fish used in your

CLO came from and there level of mercury, and whether the company tests,

etc. Fish is one of the healthiest foods natually, but is becoming

dangerous to eat all over the world. The U.S. is the worst polluter by

far regarding emissions and most lax regulations, compared to Europe for

example where they are a lot more concerned about mercury and global

warming emissions than in the U.S. Its good to check on whether a

supplement maker screens for mercury. Similar problem for calcium

supplements, which commonly have have levels of lead.
