Guest guest
Yesterday, the Doctor's arrived for the first time to see Dad along with the Nurse and Chaplin. It was all done through the Hospice program we got started. Mom really liked both the doctor's, she got to meet them both since the two rotate on call. The Chaplin was very nice to her as well. Doctor's said that Dad's edema in his legs/feet was poor circulation and came with the LBD Disease. She told Mom to try to get him to elevate his feet when he was sitting and to try to keep him off his feet, yeah right, Mr. Pacer all day, NOT going to happen. She did not want Mom giving him the liquid drops for excessive fluids of the mouth because those drops are really meant for patients that drooled excessively that came in her as needed care kit. So Mom did not get anything for his spitting, the doctor told her it was part of what came with the disease, arrrghhhh. The doctor also is going to write a letter to the program that Mom's current care giver works out of to extend his hours to aide Mom more, YEAHHHHHH YIPPEE . . . The Oxygen machines both stationary and portable arrived, Mom had to rearrange his bedroom to get the equipment in there so now she is down in her back. They also told her there was no way to know when the aide's would arrive as they have a full schedule of patients to attend to and they would arrive when they could. But they are STILL NOT calling her to let her know an idea of what time they will arrive. Which sucks because Mom wants to go back to working to help herself financially and now she can't because Dad will still have to have his morning bath's after waking up from a night of urinating through his diapers by Mom, so this still is not aiding her physically in the AM since Hospice and her normal caregiver are not showing up until after 11am and she needs someone there really no later than 9am. Today was a bit irritating for both Mom and her normal caregiver when the aide from Hospice did arrive, when she cares for dad in bathing and grooming she does NOT clean up after herself at all, she leaves towels all over the floor, tripping hazard, toothpaste all over the sink, etc. etc., which is very irritating because Mom already has a tuff time caring for dad full time physically, then for an aide to add more work for Mom to have to clean up behind dad and now having to clean up behind an aide is just plain insane, I can't believe they are being that filthy and unprofessional. So her normal caregiver has to take the time now to clean up after the Hospice aide if he arrives after her before Mom has to tackle it, that to me is a load of crap. I plan on calling Hospice beginning of next week to complain if this carries on through the weekend, I don't expect Hospice to be a maid but I don't expect them to be dis-respectful and filthy to add MORE work for Mom physically and MORE Frustration for her emotionally, damn the battles she faces, this really chaps me. So this is all I have to report for today . . . maybe more next week if I am forced to make calls to Hospice to complain yet AGAIN, which probably won't get me anywhere since my first complaint went in one ear and out the other.
