Guest guest
I am concerned and am looking for reassurance. My Endo is planning on scanning me with thyrogen and not having me go hypo. This sounds great to me but I was under the impression thyrogen was only used as a follow-up after you have gotten 2 clean scans. I thought they were known to not be as accurate as going hypo. I received my intial scan following RAI in January. The scan showed residual activity in the neck (which they believed the RAI would ablate) but I am still getting a TG level of 2.4. Obviously there is some remaining tissue. I realize there is no need for alarm but want to make sure I'm not doing the wrong thing by taking thyrogen for my scan. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
