Guest guest
, www.genzyme.com this is the website of the company who makes thyrogen. They talk about indications/contraindications of use, pros and cons. One thing it says is it can be considered for use when you have an " undetectable on-suppression Tg. This sounds great to me but I was under the impression thyrogen was only used as a follow-up after you have gotten 2 clean scans. I thought they were known to not be as accurate as going hypo. I received my intial scan following RAI in January. The scan showed residual activity in the neck (which they believed the RAI would ablate) but I am still getting a TG level of 2.4. Obviously there is some remaining tissue. I realize there is no need for alarm but want to make sure I'm not doing the wrong thing by taking thyrogen for my scan. Any feedback would be much appreciated. > > Bergeron(age 24,Tampa FL) > elizabetholson0@m... > that last 0 is a zero > > pap. thyca 11/00 (both lobes and extensive lymph nodes) > tt 12/00, RAI 175mCi 1/01 > total body scan one week later with residual activity in the neck > TG 1.4 5 months after RAI.
