Guest guest
E-Gads, Janet!!! I'm tired just reading your email. That was an extremely full weekend. Glad everything went well at the Roundup and at your son's prom. Did many people stop at the TOPS booth? What was their response to the concept of TOPS? So many people are looking for that magic pill to dissolve their excess weight without putting forth any changes in their life. We, of course, know that's not how it's done. But, the Wt. Watchers, Craig's and the ads on TV for the pills and gadgets paint such a different picture of what's necessary and achieveable, that the concept of "sensible eating and exercise" sounds like too much work. Just curious at the response. Take care of yourself and we will be glad when you're back online. Hugs, Deanna Good Monday morning Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I'm still trying to play "catch up", since I was out of town for two days in Austin. I had so much fun working the TOPS booth with Jackie, Kay, and Grace at the TX Roundup. I even had a free night's stay at the Radisson hotel downtown. --Alarm clock in the room next door went off before the sun even came up, for about 20 minutes before I finally figured out that there was nobody in the room. Tried to call down to the front desk...nobody answered for over 10 minutes! (Okay, by this time, I'm fuming and there's no way that I'm getting back to sleep!) Finally got an answer at the front desk...One of 'em was out retrieving a car from the valet parking lot and the other desk attendant was running the shuttle bus, which is why I couldn't get ahold of anyone. No biggie...I told them either to give me that night free or give me a voucher for a free stay another time. They were happy to zero out my bill so that I wouldn't have to bother the general manager with the issue. Saved me $129.00. Had to leave the TOPS booth early to pick up my daughter from the church youth convention. Good thing I allowed a little extra time....I had no idea that there would be thousands of teens at the convention! When I got to the church (HUGE facility) it was praise and worship...live band, dark room, with awesome lighting techniques. There was no way to find her in the crowd, so I stood just in the doors, scanning the crowd for 2 hours and 15 minutes!! Finally hooked up with her and we got out of there around 5 o'clock. Made it back to Lampasas with 10 minutes to spare before the couples were introduced and walked across the bridge for prominade. My son and his date looked so darn beautiful! I was able to takes lots of pictures in the short time that we had before they headed over to prom. So, I probably got to see him for all of about 30 minutes on his 18th birthday. By the time he got home, it was the next day at 5:30 a.m. I've finally caught up on reading all of my e-mail, but haven't had time to actually reply to any just yet. I am keeping on top of the weight recording for our DietO contest. Y'all are doing a great job of reporting in with your roll call. Out of 20 of us, only about 5 are no longer participating. Everyone is still in the running, so hang in there! Okay, I'm out the door. I still have farm chores to do this morning and then I have to go out to my parents' ranch to feed their horses and cattle, while they're out of town. Then I have to finish cutting out stars for graduation-grams and get things in order for a project graduation silent auction tonight at the powder puff football game. Hopefully I'll be able to post some replies to the list tonight after this hectic day is behind me. I miss "visiting" with y'all via e-mail!! Have a wonderful day and make good choices! Hugs and blessings, JanetEMAIL TEXAS-STYLE!!
Guest guest
Deanna, its not Janet, but I will answer for her, we did have agood time. there were a lot of people stopping at our booth, a lot of them from the Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock area. Can you believe some of them hadnt heard of us? Kay gave away a years membership, and there were a lot of them signing up for it. We did meet a lady that was 78 years old and she ran the 10K?? Said she started running when she was 64.She did it in 1hr 32 min. Pretty good huh. Also Kay and I walked the 10K. was glad when it was over!! Too hot at 230 in the afternoon here in TX to walk. Especially on the hot cement. But we did it. I asked Kay if she was ready to go again.Benny Weber and his wife came and worked the booth sat after noon. Kops Hugs, Jackie -- Re: Janet's weekend E-Gads, Janet!!! I'm tired just reading your email. That was an extremely full weekend. Glad everything went well at the Roundup and at your son's prom.
