so good your mom is fitting in,  you will find that the more 'routines' she

gets used to the better she will remain  lbders do very good iwth routines, i

know i do better with routines.

sounds like your moms rommate may be the problem, not your mom and the nh is

awarae of it, so that will work out. i am so glad that peace is looking at you

I am the daughter of Leonard whom was diagnosed in May 2004 and  he died of

complicatons *blood pressure started dropping and wouldn't recover* on Sept 25,

2005. He had bad case of Dr Jekyl/Mr Hyde scenarios. He was showing

hallucinations and falling issues since prior to 1994. We moved in to take care

of him Jan 19, 2003 and still live in his house. And in feb 2009, i have been

diagonosed with 99% probability of lbd. Hoping that a cure or treatment will be

found before it's too late for me.

Hi all,

My Mom had a good day yesterday, met a new friend, on her 2nd day at the N.H.

She did not have a good night.

I went to hang her clothes up I brought from home, and her roommate complained

to me about her coming over to her bed, sitting on her bed, then getting into

all her things all night long. She said, she needs a sleeping pill at night! I

told her I was very sorry, I would talk to the nurse.

Nurse said, we won't blame your Mom for all of this. As the lady in your Mom's

room, gets up and pees all night and could of woke your mom up and disturbed her

too.

Told me not to worry about it, I mentioned Ambien, and she said, oh no, we have

to be careful with what we give her, as that could make her dizzy and she could

fall.

Told me not to worry.

I talked to the Administrators too that have become friendly and nice to me.

They just told me if it doesn't work out with her roommate, they can always move

her.

Her roommate they told me was like a mouse, she never gets out of her room, she

never gets out of bed except scurrys down the hall quietly every early morning

for breakfast and then comes back and never gets out of bed the rest of the day.

I'm not sure what is wrong with her, but she is not happy person. The way her

sister talked to me the other day, that they must of had other roommates. So she

must complain and wants that room to herself. But it doesn't work that way in

N.H. You do have to share a room, Medicaid doesn't pay for private rooms! Things

just have to be worked out the best they can.

Prayers that things will stay as smooth as they can. She was asleep when I was

in there, had been sleeping all day long, guessing cause she was up all night

long.

Love and hugs,

Hi ,

Sorry about your Mom's night.

That is too bad if she is being woke up all through the night by her roommate

using the bathroom. I would assume that the nursing home would restrict her

fluid intake after a certain time if she is getting up that often.

I don't know much about Ambien, except I took it several nights in a row and it

didn't do anything at all to let me sleep, and I have a friend that told me the

same thing...But I do remember hearing about people taking it and getting up in

the middle of the night doing things and they don't even remember that they got

up. Has your Mom taken Ambien before?

Will you be there when the doctors comes to see her? I would pass it by the

doctor because the nurses aren't allowed to say yes or no, and they have to

follow doctors orders unless a family member complains to the doctor

(California...but I assume it is the same in Texas too). Please keep us

informed..God bless you and your Mom.

Joan

Thanks Sharon, I need peace! My Lupus I believe is taking a toll on my

joints. I am getting very little sleep with pains in hips/legs/knee. All I

can think of is the stress that has built up for the last months worrying

over Mom to a degree that is indescribable!! I take a presc. drug called,

Plaquenil, for my Lupus now for the past 8 months the limit of 200 mg.

Others I know with Lupus are on steroids and things, including powerful pain

meds. I do not like taking a lot of OTC or presc. pain meds due to I don't

want liver damage down the road. I will take a pain med on occasion and I

asked my dr. for presc. for Lunesta and I've taken two of those in the past

2 weeks and it seems to keep me asleep through the night so I don't wake

every 30 minutes with the pain killing me so badly!

Every time I go up there now at the HOME I am very nervous about going

into Mom's room, because that little lady is laying in her bed waiting for me

to come in there to complain to me. What a mess!

Love and Hugs and Peace to all,

Hi ,

Hmmmm...your mom had bladder sugery recently...do you think that the anesthesai

worsened her LBD symptoms...sometimes anesthesia does.

Perhaps your Mom's urge to urinate is not a physical urge, but a mental

urge..and perhaps akin to the parkisonism shaking it might be stimulating your

Mom's bladder muscles. Mom had to go potty so much during the last couple of

months...I had her sleeping with me and she knew not to get out of bed (it was a

little high for her) without waking me...sometimes 4 or 5 times a night,

sometimes every 15-30 minutes. Anyone else have this happen to their loved

ones?

You do need to take care of yourself...I couldn't think of it last night, but

Lunesta is the med that both my neighbors (husband and wife) take...the ones

that the Ambien didn't let them sleep. And, I am sorry about your LUPUS

flareup.

Hugs and prayers for you and your Mom,

Joan
