Imogene - please know that you are in my thoughts & prayers today. I'm so sorry

for your loss. We all know how this journey ends, but who can ever be 'ready' -

no one can. Don is with you in spirit every second of every day now. He THANKS

you for all that you did. You were a wonderful wife who was there for him

through thick & thin. You must be so wiped out. Please take time for yourself

and REST. We love you Imogene! We're here for you!

My dear Imogene: I was shocked to read your post this morning and very

saddened. The two of you were a very special couple. But I know how much of a

struggle it became for both of you, and your precious Texas gentleman would

never have wanted you to continue to go through the unbelievably stressful

days/weeks/months. Please accept my sincere sympathy. Don is now at peace and

you can put all of your loving energy into taking care of yourself. You deserve

your wonderful care. With hugs and peace, Norma

Oh my Dearest Imogene! I am so very sorry! I'm not even sure what to say!

This has hit me in a very deep way! Perhaps because I feel, not as if we are

`like' family, but because I feel that you ARE part of my family........if that

makes any sense??? It might not be much consolation, but at least the

suffering has ended! This horrendous disease robs our precious loved ones of

who they really are and it's so UNFAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is happy now that

he is free. I know this because my Daddy has come to me in my dreams and has

shown me how happy he is again!

I pray that God gives you much strength as you grieve. You were an exceptional

wife and Don appreciates everything you have done for him!

Thank you for being a pillar of strength for us too! God bless you. Please

call if you ever need to talk, okay? ()

I love you! Sending you BIG HEARTFELT HUGS!!!!!!

Dear Imogene,

I am so sorry that Don had to go, but I am happy for you both that his suffering

is over. I imagine him watching over you now, your roles have been reversed. I

believe that he'll want you to take the very best care of yourself that you can.

You took the very best care of Don that you could, you were an inspiration to

all of us. He was a lucky man to have you as his wife.

Wishing you peace,

Dearest Imogene

I have been away from the group for awhile. I needed a break as I think I was

sinking into a black hole. I kept all the posts and would read them on occasion.

In the last month I have been reading all the current posts mostly in an effort

to catch up with your situation. Today I read that your darling Don passed away.

I am so sorry. I know you have been through the mill with this disease and all

that it brings to our lives. It is sad I know but Don is free at last and you

can rest and reflect on the wonderful life that you had with him before he got

sick. You are so remarkable, strong and loving, an inspiration to many. Please

take care of yourself now.

Imogene,

I'm sad and relieved for you... Sad because Don is no longer here.. but

relieved that he suffers no more and that you can now rest from being a

caregiving spouse.. There is lesson in all that happens to us.. we may not

understand it now but God reveals it to us in his time...

It is my prayer that you receive comfort during this time of transitionand that

you have more sunny days ahead...

Imogene: Believe me when I say " I know how you feel " . It is such a terrible

loss, yet such a relief--to know that he suffers no longer, that he is in a

better place and that you can take care of yourself. The next few weeks will

not be easy but they will pass by and then you can concentrate on yourself

and your status. Please know that we all continue to pray for you and for

his soul, though I am sure there is no worry there. God Bless you, sweet

lady. Hugs & Love, Leona

Imogene,

How sad about Don, but your realize the real Don had left a long time ago. This

will be a difficult time for you, since you have devoted so much time and love

to Don.  Please take care of yourself--you deserve it. If there are angels in

the world, you are one of them!

I just read your note, dear Imogene. We both know where Don is and Who he is

with, and he is dancing with the Lord he served. I am so very saddened for

you tonight, for the hole that is in your life...you have been, and continue

to be, such an inspiration and example of love and grace and the meaning of

marriage. No man could have a better wife, or a better caregiver, than you

have been. God bless you...

Dear Imogene,

My thoughts are with you and Don. May you find comfort in memories of the love

you shared and peace in knowing that you have paved his journey through the land

of LBD with love, caring and compassion. Thank you for sharing your life with

us. Your gentleness and caring has touched me. I'm sad for your loss, but glad

that Don no longer has to fight the battle. This is such a difficult, cruel

disease but you have shown us how to deal with it the best you can.

May you feel the love of those who care for you. You are very special.

Bless you.

Dear Joan,

This is the first of about 50 Emails I want to write to everyone of you

that shared your heart with me at this time. It all seems surreal at times.

Other times I see his face and I bawl again.

Thank you so much, Joan, for your comfort.

Bittersweet, I know.

Don is at peace...Don is whole again.

Take care of yourself through the next few days...accept what help you can

Then...concentrate on your health...don't let it get out of control.

After caregiving so long, you will probably notice more the toll that your

body and health has taken.
