Guest guest
Dear Friends, and I found this really neat book at the bookstore yesterday called "Dieting in Real Life". Although I am not crazy about the title using the word"Dieting" since I try to not think of this as a diet...but a "Lifestyle Change"....the book does offer some really great inspirations thoughts! The following is from the book...hope you are having a good week! Love you all! Elaine "Life, we learn too late, is in the living, in the tissue of every day and every hour." Leacock "Start living as if you were at your ideal weight right now!" Psychologists have found that people perform better and achieve more when they focus on the positive rather than the negative. That's why hating my body is not a good motivator for change. If I habitually think of myself as overweight, I tend to get discouraged and give up. My mental habit becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. But God wants me whole--emotionally,spiritually and physically. Through Jesus, that wholeness is mine now, in the present moment. As I lay claim to God's wholeness spirituallly an emotionally, I will be far more motivated to live it out in my body, as well. After all, I am one being: body, mind and soul. Sometimes I try to divide up those three aspects of my identity into separate neat packages. I assume I can hate my physical self while I accept Christ's salvation spiritually and emotionally. But Jesus wants to heal all of me. He offers me health right now, this minute. I don't have to earn it by sticking to a strict diet and exercise program; I don't have to wait until I lose a certain amount of pounds. It's mine now! Enter thou into the joy of the Lord.
