Guest guest
Patty in Florida -- Just in case your doctors are from the " old school " , I thought it might be helpful that you could tell (or show) your doctors that Tap Pharmaceuticals list depression as a physiologic effect of taking Lupron. Tap includes it in their " complete prescribing information " , which they give out with their brochure on Lupron. Some doctors, however, take the " complete prescribing information " out of the brochure before giving the brochure to patients. Lupron & Depression Hello, I wanted to pass along some information my doctor gave me. if you suffer from depression, and are currently taking an anti-depressant, please consult your doctor/psychiatrist/pharmacologist before starting Lupron treatments. I recently had a check up with my psycho-pharmacologist who prescribes my SSRI medication (anti-depressant) He asked about my general health and we discussed my fibroids. He asked about the various treatment options, my current symptoms, etc. When I told him that Lupron had briefly been suggested to reduce the fibroids prior to surgery (my myomectomy is scheduled for December 10) He said absolutely NOT. he insisted under no conditions was I to undergo any treatment involving Lupron. He was very concerned about depression as a side effect. In his experience, depression induced by Lupron is very hard to treat even with current medical therapies and recovery might take as long as YEARS. I thought this was interesting coming from a doctor in another area of medicine. (he also believes ovaries should be kept and HRT avoided but better yet avoid a hysterectomy all together if you can---this advice was specific to me as his patient who has had a long term history of depression) I've seen depression listed as a side effect of Lupron. (I had told my gyn I wasn't keen on anything that listed depression and he was ok about it.) It seems like such a small thing, but when you read the side effects of any medication, you should think really carefully if you are in fact some one who might have them . Best wishes, PS We also spoke about surgery and all of the pain medications, anesthesia , etc. He ok'd everything for me.
Guest guest
I have recently been diagnosed with 4 unterine fibroids in the wall of the uterus. My doctor prescribed birth control pills to assist with the bleeding. However, it appears that the bleeding went from daily spotting to daily heavy bleeding for the last 8 days. This concerns me. However, surgery is not an option for me. Therefore, I am seeking a natural or herbal treatment. Can you help me with this?
Guest guest
I forgot to mention my worst side effect -- insomnia. I really didn't get the hot flashes too much so someone else can reply. When I did get them, it was like this -- one minute I'm fine, the next mine I'm super hot and the next minute I'm cold. Kind of like the chills. It may different for others though. I was worried about the depression aspect of it, too, as several of my family members have suffered with it in the past. Luckily it wasn't it an issue for me. > > Hi All: > > Just got my first injection of Lupron today. So far I feel pretty > good. :-) > > I am a little nervous about the side effects. Guest guest
Actually to tell you the truth I have not had any hot flashes from the lupron so far. Had my first injection in september and had my second one on october 1, the only side effect that I have from the lupron is insomnia. > > > Hi All: > > > Just got my first injection of Lupron today. Guest guest
There is no difference in the side effects from the monthly injection or the 3 month injection. I only difference you will find is the strength 1 month = 3.75 per month but you you get it for 3 months in a row your total dose would equal 11.25 and with the 3 month injection your dose is 11.25, so actually there is no difference in the form of injection you get, just how you receive the medication. > > > > > Hi All: > > > > > Just got my first injection of Lupron today.
