Guest guest
- There was a seperate study that directly made the link to cancer. I wouldn't think it's a scare or a conspiracy, since most of the giant pharmaceuticals make and sell a LOT of vitamins and have a profit motive to keep doing so. Guest guest
Very INteresting...You know, it just goes to show you...Believe half of what you read, nothing of what you hear, and always go on gut feeling. -Shari who feels better b/c I was taking 1000mg of C daily to avoid allergies & colds snunes@... wrote: > In the June issue of Science, it was reported that lipid > hydroperoxides can react in a test tube with vit C to form genotoxins > that may be potentially harmful to DNA (although this was NOT > demonstrated, it suggested that vit C might enhance mutagenisis and > increase the risk of cancer). Guest guest
, I hadn't heard about this study-are you sure it was a different one? Vitamin C has been around for a long time, has been the subject of numerous studies and has always been considered safe and beneficial. The two negative studies I mentioned both turned out to be essentially invalid due to the the fact that the conditions could not occur inside of the human body. Maybe the same is true of this latest study...I sure hope so. I know I haven't had an upper respiratory virus since I increased my dosage of C. I'd sure hate to think I was warding off colds by injesting carcinogens! Is this study published online, and if so, do you have the address? Thanks, N > - There was a seperate study that directly made the link to cancer.
