What are the options? I contacted the New Jersey Institute, but there is no way we can afford $100.00 an hour! I thought about moving to a State that has ABA services availiable, but My husband has a good job, and benefits, so I don't think that will be possible. So I guess the only other option would be to hire a lawyer and fight for services? I just don't know what else to do. My son needs more. Right now all he gets is speech therapy, and that's only when they have time. If I don't start him on ABA I won't be able to say " I did everything I could " And I don't want to look back and regret NOT doing it. Is he still young enough? Please, if anyone can give me any advice, I would be grateful. Patti (Mom to 3.9 year old Garet) >> Patti: I presume from your post that you live somewhere in NJ. If so, I have 2 very valuable resources to get you started with the ABA, as well as other issues related to autism. You can subscribe to the following groups: " Mosaic-List@groups " (185+ parents and professionals in the northern NJ with with young children with autism/PDD) " NJFamiliesWAutism@groups " (100+ parents from all over NJ with children with autism of all ages) If you send a post to either or both of those groups, you will get plenty of replies regarding ABA services, therapists, Coordinators, teachers, programs, referrals, etc., etc.Almost everyone on the " Mosaic-List " does ABA programs with their kids, and no one I know pays $100/hour, so you probably haven't tapped into the right resources yet... I encourage you to subscribe and connect with these people. They will provide you with a wealth of both educational and biomedical information that can be helpful for your son.
