Guest guest
I just came back from the Gyn and I do have uterine fibroids scattered throughout my uterus. I have been having heavy bleeding which has caused me to be anemic. I have many fibroids with the biggest being at a 6. Being I have many fibroids she is unable to remove just the fibroids and I am unable to have a vaginal hysterectomy. For the time being she has placed me on the birth control pill (to reduce the bleeding) and I am having a D and C on the 17th of this month. Her and I both agree that a hysterectomy is the last resort to this problem. If the pill does not work the next plan is the lupron shots. She told me these can be somewhat miserable. Has anyone had any experience with these? If this does not work, then the next plan is a hysterectomy. I wanted to keep my ovaries but she said due to my age (48) she would remove my ovaries also. This of course would throw me into menopause. Can anyone tell me of their experiences with any of the above? Thanks so very much with any info you can provide.
