Guest guest
Hello all, This is my first post. I was recently diagnosed with MS; I have another autoimmune condition called Lymphoedema as well. I also have Von Wilibrans Disease, which is a genetic bruising bleeding disorder. Here is another fine example of my firm believe that " everything happens for a reason " . I cannot take drug therapies or Omega Acid pills because of my blood disorder. However because of this I found out that good old Vitamin C would also rebuild your nerves in much the same way as the expensive meds. I was also told to eat four meals of foods high in Omega a week (free range buffalo, deer or the like and wild vs. farm raised cold water fish are good examples). I have been put on a high protein diet, as protein is the building block for blood. I have also found out that food allergies play a big role in most cases, especially to wheat and dairy products. Everyone that has MS should be checked for these, there are special blood tests an allergist can perform! Three different docs have suggested I've seen that I start an elimination diet and/or an anti-inflammatory diet. You can find links to these online. If you don't have an allergist or nutritionist, you should get one and discuss these things with them before trying them! An excellent book I have found is called " Prescription for Nutritional Healing " by Phyllis Balch, CNC. It has everything and I mean everything that you could ever want to know about Nutritional Healing! My present Nutritionist also prescribed Multi Vitamins with no iron and she said to make sure they were capsules and not the pressed pills because your body digests the capsules better, she said if the vitamin does not hurt your stomach it is not working or the nutritients aren't being absorbed. Another important note: if you have MS or any autoimmune disease you shouldn't take Echinacea or other things to bolster your immune system: think about it: if your immune system is defective and you take something to make it stronger; what will happen? I got very ill for months trying to drink Immune Support Teas! The minute I took these teas out of my diet, I felt better. I hope everyone reading this has a great holiday season! indigomagic
