Guest guest
I hoard crackers. We have boxes of cheese crackers, ritz type crackers, saltines, animal crackers, and regular and cinnamon graham crackers. I love crackers. And my kids love crackers. LOL Does he eat crackers? That is very funny though. Tamara --- rgr4us wrote: > Okay, > > This is not a vent, honest...just a question. Guest guest
Does he have issues with " freshness " ? My dh does. BIG TIME. There is SO much bread, rolls, tortillas, etc., in my cupboard it's ridiculous. He will NOT eat anything that is NOT fresh, so he goes out and buys new stuff, even if the " old " stuff is only a couple days old. This is really one of my pet peeves. Except that he cannot go out and buy new stuff. But he would like to. Even frozen food worries him. > > This is really one of my pet peeves. Mine too! It gets expensive. Guest guest
FWIW, my mum gave me a dark chocolate Cherry Ripe easter egg again this year, and I don't like Cherry Ripe. And I told her last year. I have never eaten Cherry Ripe bars. I also hate dark chocolate, and have since I was a small child. I can't understand why she bought it two years in a row? It seems like she bought it specially, too. My son loves them so I arranged a swap for plain chocolate when we got home ) Mum is NT. I guess we are all absent-minded at times. in Sydney, Australia Mum to , 6yo AS ADHD, and , 5yo mild hearing loss Re: OT...Someone explain this to me > I do it to Raena....I just like crackers, and it seems that everytime I run out, I get too sick to go to the store to get more. I have 4 boxes of Ritz, 2 Keebler Club, and 2 Saltines in my pantry/cupboard. Maybe he's just absent-minded??>> Good point, . He is awfully absent-minded...one of the running jokes in our family, in fact. Too bad he doesn't " just like " chocolate...I could get into hoarding chocolate. Guest guest
Penny, I must have huge issues myself! LOL I save things I know I will probably never eat. Habit from my mother I guess. And one time I saw a container of milk in the fridge that was the day before experation date so I took it out and put it on the counter to throw away. Well, I forgot about it and left it out over night. The next morning I found it on the counter and was going to throw it away but there was no room in the garbage so I put it back in the fridge with the intent to throw it out later. Guess who comes up stairs with a bowl of cereal? OMG! Jeff never eats breakfast! I didnt, couldnt tell him about the milk. I wanted to gag, but he had already almost finished the cereal. YUK! Jacquie H PS Why did I put the milk back in the fridge if I was going to throw it away? Well, I thought it would smell up my kitchen. > Jacquie H. > > You'd get along GREAT with my dh. > > What *I* don't understand is WHY he leaves the OLD stuff in the > cupboard/refrigerator when he replaces it with NEW stuff. Guest guest
>>> I will not trust my nose to tell me if it is bad <<< LOL... I was the same, until I actually SMELLED milk that is turning. Wow, that smell is unmistakable. If you are not sure whether milk is off by the smell, then it's not off. I can now drink it when it's two days out. The date they put on there is conservative, just to cover their own butts. As long as your fridge keeps cold it will last beyond that date. You can use a fridge thermometer to check it - the temp should be no hotter than -2 Celsius and preferably -5. Now, can anyone convert that to Fahrenheit by any chance? ) in Sydney, Australia Mum to , 6yo AS ADHD, and , 5yo mild hearing loss
