Guest guest
Hi Imogene- I have a friend with a beach home on Sanibel Island. I didn't make it to her beach home but stayed with her in Bradenton. Her twin sister lives here in Des Moines. I went to Florida one year ago, it was beautiful. I had never been to Florida before. We got another inch of snow this afternoon/evening and I shoveled a good 30 ft. by 40 ft. section and was thinking of you each shovel I threw. I looked up to the sky saying prayers for you and Don several times as I was shoveling. My son got the snow blower out and cleared the rest of the driveway for me along with the very front sidewalk, also threw down some ice melt on the hill of our driveway. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers- Sandie Des Moines, IA ----- Re: Re: Introduction/ OT Date: Mon, 1 Feb 2010 22:25:29 EST Chardon, Ohio, is it Carol? You are also in some beautiful country. Feeding a horse? You ARE in the country. And, snow dumps there by the bucket. But in your country setting it stays beautiful longer. Cleveland was just filthy back in the '50s when the steel mill was still there. Where a person wakes up to life is the most beautiful, and tugs at the heart no matter where the place is. My place was Southern Florida on the Islands of Sanibel, Pine Island, and Ft. Myers beach. And that was a time before the places became overcrowded. " Wall to wall and ten feet tall. " The Islands were unspoiled, pristine, and totally glorious. Why did I leave? A man, and ignorance of other places. When I moved to Texas, it was another man that has kept my heart and me here, not to mention some of my children. Texas has some beautiful places, but it isn't " home " either. The Islands are " home. " Thanks for dropping a line and telling me where you are at. Please keep writing, too. Love a bunch, Imogene In a message dated 1/31/2010 9:22:27 A.M. Yes, not too far from Lake Erie in the " snow capital " of Ohio. This morning it is just 6 degrees and sunny. I bundled up to go out and feed the horse, goats and rabbit. But we do have central heat! Robin, glad to see another Ohioan here although the distance is too great between us to share resource ideas! Take care- Carol daughter of who was diagnosed 2003 with LBD
