Guest guest
Well tomorrow is the first time appointment for my brother. He has gone through many personality, behavior and even memory changes over the four month wait for this date. I filled out ten pages of questions and information. My husband and I hope to go in with him. We never know what frame of mind he will be in so not sure he will allow it. At least we have all our concerns, quality of life and safety, and what we see as memory issues written down. The last test he had with OT to see if he could still drive, was a disaster. They sent him the results in the mail and it contained my name as saying things, which he saw as lies and trying to make him look bad. That was one of the worse personality and behavior changes in him to go through. Since this is specifically Geriatrics that deals with dementia and Alzheimer's I hope they use better judgment and common sense. We hope to get a specific diagnosis, support and direction that will give him the quality of life he so deserves. After being the primary care giver for several members of the family with dementia I feel like a Warrior, figuratively speaking. One who shows great vigor, courage, or assertiveness. As in making sure my loved ones are are treated with respect, have the best quality of life, are safe, health and comfortable as possible.
