And in feb 2009, i have been diagonosed with 99% probability of lbd. Computers and cyberspace has its issues. Thank you for your wishes for both me and Dolly to get better. I sure will do my best to get her back to normal and hopefully, me too. She has been very quiet, listeless, sleeps a lot and then started shaking uncontrollaby. She has been to the vet several times this week, and today they had to keep her and monitor her for a couple of hours to make sure that she didn't slip into a coma. Her temperature was 103.7 and she is dehydrated, has an infection, and low blood sugar. So, now I have to monitor her very closely and give her immediate attention and medication if she starts shaking again, have to force feed her Pedialyte for the dehydration about every hour and give her antibiotics for her infection. She is just so very vulnerable right now and despite how bad I feel myself, I must go forward and do my caregiving thing for her. They wanted to keep her overnight at the animal hospital but let her come home to me because I am going to keep her hydrated, medicated, and monitored at > home where she is comfortable instead of having her stay in a cage with strangers. > I was crying at the animal hospital today because I felt that I should have seen the signs and symptoms earlier, but just like when LBD was diagnosed for Mom, I have to realize that if I do not know about a disease and have no knowledge then I am really not in the wrong. > > Well anyway, this was just supposed to be a test message and I guess i just babbled on way too long. > > Hugs and prayers, > Joan > > > > > > > > > > > >

Subject: Re: OT...Problems with Posts To: LBDcaregivers Date: Saturday, February 27, 2010, 11:11 AM  Hi Helene, Thanks for your message. Dolly seems to be doing pretty well this morning...I haven't felt her shaking - and that is when I have to spring into action to get sugar in he system. I also have to let food down for her all of the time, but the one problem with that is the Desi, mmy 6-mo chihuahua is a little foodaholic and I have to keep Dolly's area closed, and sometimes she is too much into playing to go and cry for me to let her in to eat...I will have to put her in there every hour or so to see if she wants to eat something or not. Yes, life is unpredictable, and although what Dolly is going through is not the same, it is one of those little things that you really don't know why they are sleeping more, more agitated, etc. until you find out that is is some secondary thing (UTI with LBD patients and low blood sugar with Dolly). In addition to my back and neck problems, I either have a cold or some real bad allergies. Between trying to get some work done and letting dogs in and out of the house, feeding the dogs, breaking up the little arguments between the dogs, I don't have a whole lot of time to think about myself. Most days I will only eat one meal because I am just trying to get some things done. I do have to take some Claritin and some Mucinex because I am feeling pretty horrible right now. Take care, and have a great weekend!
