Found this on another group site. Personally, I'm not sure I even

want to wade through figuring out what it says. And certainly I dunno

whether it be true or false, and haven't tried it out, but i'm

putting it here in hope it may help somebody:

1. Both club and group messages can be emailed. You have the option

to turn it off or on by clicking on your " Edit my Membership " button

on the " rightmost " corner of your yahoo groups window. You have

three options: Individual Emails, Daily Digest and No Emails.

" Individual emails " means each time a message is posted, you get to

receive it in your email, much like the way in clubs.. (but honestly,

do u want to do that?!) :))

" Daily Digest " is a compilation of all the messages for the day. You

get only one email a day..

" No Emails " means exactly that.. the member will read everything

from the website

2. You can even go from one e-group to another (if you belong to more

than one) using the MyGroups button at the top of the " Edit my

Membership " button.

3. What is missing from this type of group (from club to group type)

is the polling option, primarily because it wasnt part of the feature

of the clubs to start with.

4. But it has a database, where we can store our basic profile if we

want.. for everyone's perusal.

5. The " thread " option is just to see the depth of replies one post

has garnered.. it's like an index or the path of the replies..

6. In the Message window, you can also see the number of replies your

post has had. These messages are also clickable/readable at once..

7. The " Expand Message " button (which can be seen when you click on

the " Messages " button to your right at the homepage) is to allow you

to view at least 15 messages at a time. To reply you can either

click the title (i think) or the number of the message( I'm sure)..

This takes you to one message a window, where you can now click the

reply button. As mentioned, don't forget to wrap your text

before you send the post.

8. To wrap your text, simply click the " wrap text " button at the top

of the " send " button.

9. Unlike the clubs, where you have a limit to the number of posts

that you can make, the groups doesnt have that limitation. So you

can post as much as you want :)

Cammie.....

this is why I don't understand why so many have been dissatisfied with

the change from club to group. I belong to different groups and have all

the posts emailed to me as they come online. I only go no-mail if I'll be

away for a few days. I'll go to the site if I'm looking up something.

Otherwise just email me the posts *smile* It is so much easier to go

through the email daily. That way you don't miss a thing!
