In the UK, the medical people are now saying that these three conditions may actually be different names for the same thing. It sounds like these may, at some point, all be classified as Hypermobility Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (old type III). The only real difference in the diagnosis, is that the less affected individuals seem to get the less severe diagnosis. I was originally diagnosed with Benign Hypermobility Syndrome. I was later diagnosed with HEDS and this has been confirmed by a geneticist at the EDNF Philly conference (based on family history and what have you), but with an abnormal inheritance pattern. -- Fuller Winchester, England HEDS (VEDS overlay), FMS, OA, IBS, lumbar scoliosis, tinnitus, some hearing loss, stomach problems, chronic depression, multiple allergies, asthma.... Guest guest
hi. thanks for clarifying all of this for me. more questions now!!!... does this 'flare up'? because i have my daily aches and pains. and i am extremely hypermobile.... but sometimes EVERYTHING hurts all at one time. i realize that if my legs are achy, i use my arms more. then they get achy and i go back to my legs. cycle, on and on. but sometimes it is excruciating pain in every joint except my middle back and neck. i can feel my blood rushing through my feet they are so sensitive. i am thinking there is something else here. and my doctor is a toal ass. excuse my french. but he put me on ultram, knowing i am on zoloft and have had seizures. i had a reaction to it, so i called him. he had his nurse call back 3 times! but he could not be bothered to call himself. finally she had no idea what to say to me and it was over. now, once again, i have no pain medication at all. i sound like a junkie! i am vwery sensitive to all drugs and i realize this is frustrating to the doctors, but don't they think i am frustrated also? i am the one in pain here! ...
