Guest guest
Hi again, I wish summer was here when all are well at the nursing home. Some kind of flu broke out in another wing that Jim is not in. They all had a flu shot, but it is another strain of flu than the shot was for. They closed off the diningroom and everyone ate in their own room yesterday. One or two people that roam from one wing to the other caught it in Jim's wing. Hopefully, Jim does not catch that too, he has enough problems getting over the Pneumonia. He is still congested, I hear it in his chest. I can see he doesn't feel well and he tells me he is dying. He did have a good day the day before yesterday and he wanted to get up and was up most of the day and resisted getting back to bed for a nap. I think it wore him out and the next day, yesterday, he was sleeping most of the day. He has been eating the pureed food, so I am glad about that. I just take each day a step at a time. I was exhausted yesterday. I couldn't sleep the night before worrying about Jim and I got up early to get there and be with him. Today, I slept later than usual, I was so tired from yesterday. Since I am at the nursing home several hours a day, I have officially volunteered to help out and signed volunteer papers, got the TB test, and now I am helping out and making myself useful while hanging out there. I am having fun volunteering, they put me in activities. I was in charge of a game of Yahtzee a few nights ago and we had a great time. I had them all laughing over me attempting to keep up with their scores. These people are high rollers. LOL I'm not even a card player, so I learned fast what a small straight, large straight, full house and so on was, they wouldn't give me one second of rest between their rolls. LOL They play for blood. Hahahaha We had a lot of laughs. I am glad to volunteer, it takes the focus off emotions over Jim. I am on my way now to visit him. Enjoy your loved one as much as you can, because time flies and tomorrow is just around the corner. With love to all.................Jan
