Gretchen,

I feel so bad that you aren't getting any better. It seems that your

life is revolving around this illness. I know it is difficult when

you are sick but having a positive attitude has helped me. I am not

always the happiest person when I am sick but I am determined to get

better and I know that having a positive attitude is getting me there

faster.

I would put my faith in the fact that Dr. Kolb is a wonderful doctor

and wouldn't lie to you.

Many years ago, I was a bit like you, but then I became very angry. That was good for me. I started doing research, and that was the answer for me. My life was beginning to make sense, because I was fighting back. I still have the capsule in my right breast, and they removed my left breast. My breasts are not a pretty sight, but I do not care. The most important thing is to have some quality of life, and that is what I am fighting for.

Honey, please do not do everything that the other ladies are doing. You must learn to make choices for yourself. Your doctor cleaned you out the best that she could, and it is not possilbe to get every little bit of the garbage that was implanted into your body. What you need is a good family doctor, because a plastic surgeon does not have time to give you the care that you need.

The wonderful women in this group give us choices. We are all so very different that we must find a balance in what is best for each one of us. Please, try to forget about the capsules and think about your whole body. I know that this might not be easy, but you must move on. We will give you love and support, but you must take charge of your life.

Gretchen,

You must stop dwelling on that first explant surgery. Dr. Kolb

understands the importance of having the capsules removed, and the

important thing is that they are out NOW. I know it's been 5

months. I have had many illnesses in my lifetime that have lasted

for years, including implant illness which I'm still struggling

with - one and a half years later - but what keeps me going is that

all of the illnesses I've had have eventually gotten better in their

own time, and what they have in common is that I continued to try

different things until I found the right combination. That's why I

have hope that in time my body will get strong enough to where I no

longer have any (or at least very few) implant related issues. Keep

searching, you are not the first person to be sick 5 months after

explant, and unfortunately you won't be the last. I'm not

discounting your feelings - you have every right to be angry and

sad - but you need to understand that it takes some people a long

time to get better.

thanks guys. i just was so desperate. i just cant stop wondering if he

did it right would i be better by now or at least on my way instead of

getting worse. wouldnt you be so mad at yourself for not making him

You need to get over this being mad at yourself and get on with

working to get better.

No, I was not mad at myself, I was angry with the manufacturers and

the doctors who lied to me.

And I organized and worked to get better and help others.

I did not sit around and feel sorry for myself. I just got

busy. And I got better.

Please get your mind on something besides how bad you feel. Get it

on getting better and what you can do to empower yourself. You are

making yourself worse by your mental attitude.

Yes, I had to go back less than a year later and have the scar tissue

removed. And I got better.

Focus on something besides illness. You will NOT get better if you

keep thinking this way.
