Guest guest
Patti, I have spent a long time getting ready for knee surgery because I was so scared. I stopped smoking back in June of " 09. And saw my reg MD to get ready and did some stress testing. And I had lots of other things to do. I am glad I got my self " ready " because it was so easy when I got to finally do it. I certainly could have done it sooner and it is easy to say that now. It is three months soon and I did my PT and now I am getting around fine. A bit tired when I push to hard. But I certainly thought it would be harder than it was. My second one will go much easier because I have a lot of answers to what will happen. I really was by myself by the end of the first week. My daughter did some cooking for a week or so, but I had done some frozen stuff so she would be able to take care of her own family soon enough. I am so glad I did it. I use a bit of pain pills for sleeping but it is as much the knee that isn't done yet, that hurts at night as the one that had surgery. If you need encouragement, just email me and I will tell you what I did and why. I got the book and read it. And there is a book. Hugs, Donna R Re: Donna - Catching up  Hi Donna- So very proud of you for your knee sugery and upcoming second surgery. I am so very pleased you were able to walk 6 blocks, definitely an improvement from the Caregivers Gathering. Great job! Hello to all new members joining the list. Mom continues to hang in there. She even managed to tell the therapist " enough " when they were doing her exercises.
