Guest guest
Hi Everyone: I have posted to this group a few times and regularly follow the posts. I have gained a lot of insight for dealing with my father (age 83) who has Parkinson's Disease with Dementia. He has lived in a memory care unit for 5 months. About a week ago he fell during the night and he has not walked since then. I live in Michigan and he is in Florida (my mom is there also and visits him twice a day). The " Home " had him x-rayed and there is nothing broken. He is starting physical therapy. My mom says that he now can stand, but not walk. The first few days after the fall, my mom said the aides would get on each side of him and try to get him to stand, but his legs would just buckle, so at least he is making progress. Does anyone know what is going on??? One day he is walking just fine-then all of a sudden he can no longer walk. It just doesn't make sense to me! He has fallen pretty regularly over the past year, but thankfully he has not hurt himself. Diane Schutt
