What Reactions Can I Expect Going LC?

After 52 years of condescending and rude remarks and behaviors, I've reached the

point where its time to limit my contact with nada and fada. In the past month,

I've seen them once, in a house filled with relatives. I've made no attempt to

call and do not answer or return their calls - unless I'm feeling strong enough

to deal with the games.

Aside from living out of state a few times, I've always been nearby and

convenient for them to drop-in on unexpectedly. I've never really avoided their

calls before to this extent. Yesterday nada left me a vm thanking me for

something I'd done for her...that's a first!...and questioning whether my son

returned home from his trip alright. I know nada only asked about my son

because she spoke to another family member who told me they'd asked nada the

same question about my son. I know nada is feeling the distance and this was

only an attempt to hoover me back in.

I'm sure once she sees her nicey-nice ploys don't reap her any results, she'll

come at me from other angles, most likely turning vicious and attacking me and

telling me how bad and selfish I am.

I'm wondering what other reactions and ploys others have faced and how have you

successfully dealt with it?
