I didn`t need that, I called my hospital trying to reach my doctor last night. I

told the ER I needed some help with the pain that i couldn`t tke it. The

nextthink I knew the nurse was asking me to stop out side. I agreed, but I

didn`t know why. When I got outdoors there were 3 squad cars and officers

waiting for me. They were sendt by the hospital. The hospital told them I was a

danger to myself and wanted to haul me away. So the hospital offered me no help

Just to have me put away for awhile. My Wow I needed that. My computer is not

working s bare with mess. I`m just sick and very upset with lif if this is a

mess. I`m just very upset andand ticked off with the world today. Sorry

No need to be sorry about anything, . The hospitals now are erring on the

side of caution to avoid a possible lawsuit should someone hurt themselves after

calling the hospital. Unfortunately, the attitude today is sue someone if

something goes wrong and it sucks, quite frankly, that hospitals and other

places have to adopt a CYA attitude.

Hang in there, things will get better. I can understand your frustration with

the situation and I'd feel the same way under the circumstances. Hopefully

you've been able to get things straightened out this morning. I know it's tough,

but hang in there and please remember that you always have someone to lean on

when you need it the most.

I know that it seems impossible right now, but one of these days soon, you'll be

able to look back on this whole episode and laugh about it.

Hi ,

I am sorry to hear the hospital sent police to your house saying that you were a

danger to yourself! I don't think that was very nice of them to do that when

you were just asking for help, but that is also just my opinion. How are you

doing now? I hope you are doing better now!

Love,

Becky in SD

Hello ,

I'm sorry you were subjected to such an embarrassing moment,

but in the hospital's defense if you had been suicidal and no one took any

action to prevent the tragedy we wouldn't have you here with us now. Life is so

precious and fragile, we can't take chances with it.

I'm sure you just wanted some relief from your pain. When heating pads, pain

pills, ultra strength muscle rub pain relieving creams, hot baths, ER doctors and

even God seems not to be helping, it can be very difficult to be calm and

logical. Once again I am so sorry You had to experience that.

I sincerely hope you didn't have to go through that ordeal alone. Life and pain

is so much easier if you have someone to hold your hand and try to work through

it with you.

Sincerely,

Laflure in Louisiana

By law, when you tell them, you cannot handle something, they have

what is called a mental health crisis team and it is ususally police officers

trained to evaluate a patient. Do not think you were doing anything criminal.

In our county, it is called the MOT team, Mental Operation Team.

They come out, make sure you are not going to physically harm yourself

and report back to the hospital. Doctors and hsopitals will not

prescribe narcotics or antiobiotics anymore by just calling.

I remember the day I could call my doctor and tell them I needed

something and they would call it in but guidelines are so much

stricter now and doctors are so scared of DEA fines and licensure.

When I call after hours, I just tell them I am having problems with my

medications and contriindiations. This way

I get to talk to the Doctor and don't have to reveal personal things

to someone who only has to relate them again. i then tell my Doctor

that my medication is not covering my pain level and all the other

things I have tried before calling him. They make all patients come

to the ER though to be monitored.

The nurse should have asked you to come in, if you refused, it was her

responsibility to send someone out if she knew you and you had given

you her name.

Usually, doctors have an exchange group that take messages and then

the doctor will talk to you and have you to come to the ER for

treatment so they can monitor you and then regulate the medication.

Hopefully, this was not vindictive on the nurses part but it does

happen.

I hope you are better, , I have been thinking of you. Bennie

I have had cops at my door just because my email was misunderstood.

I felt that sometimes that the food I eat, due to so many food sensitivities,

one of these time it will do me in when I don't realize it.

Someone took it seriously and thought I was talking suicide I think and sent the

police and then I had to explain myself again.

A learned lesson
