Guest guest
Hi all, I could use some insight. My endo says we can cut my withdrawal to 3 1/2 - 4 weeks. I would take cytomel for one week, nothing for two. The actual schedule is - off meds Sept. 14, scan Oct. 12, as long as my TSH is >30 by then. TSH was over 30 in 21 days after surgery last year. If I need more RAI, I have an open reservation for Oct. 16. Would I compromise my test or RAI effectiveness by doing this in 4 weeks? Is a TSH of 30 at 6 weeks any " better " than at 4 weeks? Are there other factors to be considered, or is 6 weeks the protocol because of averages (most take 6 weeks to become sufficiently hypo)? I have to tell you, 4 weeks sounds good! Thanks, Sandy TT/RAI Oct. 2000
