I'm also a new member. I have joined because my husband is a diabetic with out

of control sugar. We are working very hard to get it under control and it

doesn't seem to be working very well. He is compliant and tries very hard. We

have a new endocrinologist that we hope will be able to offer some solutions in

terms of medication. I hope it's ok for me to be on this list even though I'm

not a diabetic. I have low blood sugar. I think it will help me as we cope with

his diabetes and my low blood sugar.

Thanks for the welcome. About myself,I am a senior citizen,I live in

Illinois right across the river from St.Louis,Missouri I can see the

Arch from my back yard. Have had diabetes about 17 years,am an obese

person, and I do not manage my blood sugar well at all.See by some of the

letters you talk about liver and kidney numbers I do not know any of

these things only will be talking about diet and blood sugar.

Was wondering if I may write to you all if I am going through a hard day

or just talk about feelings.Have not been on my plan for some time but

got back on it last week

so may I report how my blood sugar is doing and just talk about thing in

general regarding diabetes.Needed some one to talk to who understands

what I'm going through all the time.

Hi Nan,

We're glad you're here. We've all been there and all had hard times. I'm glad

you're taking control of your BS.

It's so important to avoid terrible complications down the road. I suffered

from denial for a while before taking charge of my life. The first couple of

months were very difficult, trying to figure it all out. Now I am seeing

results and so pleased. Let us know how you're doing and what's working and

not. There are some wonderful, knowledgable people on this list who can help

you through the bumps in the road. I found that reading helped a lot. If you

would like the name of some books, let me know. Oh! Most of my relatives live

around St. Louis and Belleville! Take care, Chris

Hi Mari, A big warm Texas welcome from me. As you probably know we are a

supportive and loving group. I've never known one so helpful. ,

and Donna are the reason for that. They are our Moderators.

May you go through this journey with the least amount of strain on you and

yours.

Hang in there dear Mari, and ask questions or have a pity party just like

I just did.

We all need support.

Welcome again, and

Love with a smile,

Hello Everyone

I am new to the group. My mom was recently diagnosed with LBD, (she

already suffered from Parkinson's) and I think she had LBD before the

diagnosis.

There was a lot of confusion and mystery as to what was causing her

hallucinations and odd behavior until I began to read about the different

causes

of dementia. After several visits and frequent calls to her neurologist and

prayer, she was finally hospitalized with a fever and a urinary tract

infection. After the doctors and nurses observed her behavior, she was finally

diagnosed. The disease is such a tragedy, yet I have to be grateful that I

can still see her every day and have the opportunity to help in any way that

I can. She is in a nursing facility presently, but I have the goal and

dream of being able to care for her at home one day. In the meantime we are

dealing with the hand that life has dealt us.

I appreciate the opportunity to exchange emotions and info with you.

Mari's.

I've had FMS since I was 18, now 36. Just recently I've begun having the

hand/arm from elbow numbness and pain. I'm told chiro and massage on the

area can help significantly. Will let you know.

Hi

I am new here but not new to Fibro, I have had it for 10 years. I am 42

years old and have varying degrees and types of symptoms. I have some good

weeks and some bad weeks but never total recovery. I have had hundreds of

tests MRI's, EMG's, blood work etc. They have ruled out MS, Lupus etc

I have a lot of numbness in my hands and feet. I have a poor excercize

tolerance and I have trouble accepting the diagnosis and worry endlessly

that it is something else, more serious. The main thing I suspect is MS but

my consultant repeatably assures me it is not MS.

Does anyone here have severe numbness and pain in your hands and

feet and, if so, what have you done to help this? I have tried many

supplements and nothing seems to help.

Thsnk you for reading this

Hi Janette,

Am one of the oldies in this site...I used to have the same problems. As I

changed my diet from starch and processed foods to protein and vegetable

diet   I began to feel much better. I also added Braggs unfiltered apple cider

vinegar, coconut oil, vitamin d3, and other supplements. I took away sodas,

sugar   (I use estevia), I use a lot of natural herbs and spices. It took me

several months to clear myself from toxins accumulated through the years but I

am feeling so much better. I also had acupuncture once a week for eight

months....it works! I was blessed to have an acupuncture school here and had it

done for lessthan half price.

Hope this helps a bit.

Hello Janette

Welcome I had similar issues with my heads and feet and my foot doctor tested me

for b12 and b1 and I am lacking in both. I do weekly shots of b12 and take b1. I

had to do shots because taking a vitamin was not being absorbed. It has helped

but it took months before I started to see a difference. You should get your b12

tested and it should be around 500 to 600. My sister has the same thing and she

is also lacking in these vitamins.

Can you tolerate walking? Swimming is supposed to be great for Fibro

Ciao-

Ange

I am very weak today and finding it hard to type, but I want you and the others

here to know I am listening. Nobody has ever told me anything like this before

and I am finding it a bit hard to comprehend but there is something special

here, I can feel it and I am going to stick around and find out what is getting

you all well.
