Yes, proper removal takes time, mine took 3 hours........but there was a previous silicone rupture in those caps and they were left in.......so there was alot of scar down. A 20 min surgery on an area that size is disaster plain and simple...... Blessings ~ DSee what's free at AOL.com.

LCL,

20 minutes means no scar capsule removal. Do not be fooled by what

they said. It takes well over an hour to remove the scar tissue and

implants en bloc. You will be gettiing a surgery you may have to go

back and have another in less than a year to remove the scar tissue.

s Hopkins does not have the reputation of believing these

implants cause problems and they do not have the reputation of taking

them out correctly, whatever they told you.

Astrid,

I totally advise you to not consider the s Hopkins route. What

they told LCL scares me. They are not planning a proper surgery.

If insurance covers LCL's implants, I advise her to look elsewhere to

find someone who will do the surgery properly.

We have had hundreds of women do it wrong and have to go back and

have scar tissue removed later, including myself.

Please, women, do not be fooled by doctors who say they will remove

scar tissue. If they are not on our list, they are not very likely

doing the proper procedure.

How are you feeling Dianne?

I agree that 20 minutes means the doctor doesn't intend to remove the capsule . . . If the doctor won't agree to removing it, see another doctor!

When i went for my consultation for the explant, he

agreed with him, how glad am i that i found you guys,

because he did remove the capsules and surgery took 1

L,

I have to tell you, I had heard great things about my plastic surgeon

and many have heard good things about many centers and had very bad

experiences when it came to proper implant removal. Absolutely no

plastic surgeon can remove your scar tissue in 20 minutes. It is

physically impossible. They will open you up, pop out the implants,

and sew you back up. That is all that is possilble in that amount of time.

I don't care how small your implants are or how soft they are, they

are not doing the proper procedure in this amount of time.

Many doctors have told women they were doing the proper procedure and

many women found out later (too late) that the proper procedure was not done.

Lynda,

Hopkins is an institution that has done "positive" implant studies. i.e., they have a vested interest in not admiting to problems.

Everyone who has implants has capsules . . . even if they are soft.

I'd suggest telling the surgeon that you won't rest easy until you know that everything has been removed.

Keep in mind, the doctor works for YOU . . . It's YOUR body. YOU have the right to determine what will be done. . . especially if it falls within good medical standards . . and en bloc removal does!

You might ask him to talk to Dr. Kolb . . . She's known for talking to other surgeons about proper implant removal.

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

LCL's Visit and Hopkins Med Ctr

Hi Lynda ... and also others ... just for "sake of arguement" ...

Maybe this will make a difference ... or not ...

My boobs are relatively "small" compared the huge implants I've seen on other women. In 1988, the Doc would'nt give me more than a C cup ... he said because of scarring. Up until a few months ago, I've taken really good care of my chest. Most of the time wearing a job bra to bed and support as much as possible. No real pressure put on my chest ... not even in sex. They are actually pretty small now. They are very plyable (sp?).

The only thing that's happened in the last few months (new boyfriend - pressure), my left radiated side has started to bother me. My only concern about scarring would be my left radiated boob. But right now left boob is very plyable... both are very plyable ... how much scarring can there be?

I understand about Doctors doing their job. I've heard so much good attached to Hopkins. When one lives in this area ... or not ... from all over the world, people go to Hopkins. Seriously, I am single, self-employed, and truthfully don't have any more energy, time or money to travel to Texas or anywhere else. I've put an incredible amount of time, energy and money into my health in the last 2 to 3 years.

I will have another serious conversation with him ... I'll just put more pressure on him.

Thanks for your input ... I do appreciate your comments.

LCL,

Most plastic surgeons so not even know what en

bloc means, and if they do, they say they will

remove implants that way. I cannot tell you the

hundreds of women who found out after surgery

that they did not have their scar tissue removed.
