Guest guest
I'm sure I've said this before, Anita, but I'm going to say this again: not all Yoga is the pretzel twisting kind and you don't have to be some sort of gymnast to be good at it. There are very VERY simple easy beginners DVDs that teach you the basics and encourage you to never go beyond what is comfortable for you. At least that is the principle of Hatha yoga: to become attuned to your bodymind, learning what it's needs are without any comparison to others (quite a different philosophy from other group exercise classes I've been in where I feel that I've had to " keep up " ). Also, something I haven't mentioned: although yoga started out as an Eastern tradtition, many Christians use are comfortable doing it today. In fact, I attend Christain yoga retreats and incorporate yoga into my morning prayers. Please don't misunderstand - I'm not selling my religion here. I just wanted to aleve any fears that yoga is somehow connected with Eastern religions. Christians have been using it for many centuries now. So if that's a concern, it need not be one. peace, lisa --- I will have my daughter help me find yoga tapes and programs, I don't do anything anymore without her input on my physical limits and help getting started. She has a tummy virus now, but hopefully will get to come home this weekend and we can begin the yoga.
