Guest guest
, I am so glad you are going to see Dr. Berger. If he confirms what your RE said then I would consider that to be true, however, I REALLY doubt that you cannot be helped and I am confident that Dr. Berger will give you good medical advice and treatment. Your insurance should cover the Ashermans treatment as it is medically necessary and Dr. Berger will write a letter supporting that is need be. Guest guest
- I think you're right. I think it may be time to say goodbye to this doctor and get a second opinion. I am always suspicious of a doctor that says " I'll do this if you want but it's not going to work " . I need a physician with a little more faith than that! As for the insurance issues....I don't know what to tell you. Maybe try to look at this as a financial decision wherein you're going to spend " X " amount of dollars and you need to decide what is the best way to spend them? On another attempt to restore your uterus and IVF? On adoption? On a trip to Jamaica? I don't know, it's all a matter of where you and your husband are in terms of a family. And I know that looking at this as a financial decision is probably impossible as it's NOT just financial but deeply emotional as well. Do you have other children? How important is it to you to have a biological child at this point? A lot of questions to work through I know.... Hang in there. If I can help you reason through different options let me know. Guest guest
-Celeste, Thanks for the info, but my insurance will not cover anything because I don't have out-of-network benefits. The fee for Dr. Berger really isn't bad but when you add IVF on top of it that is what worries me, because there are no grantees that it will even work. But I guess that is a chance I will have to take. -- In Ashermansegroups, celjim@a... wrote: > , > > I am so glad you are going to see Dr. Berger. Guest guest
Gwen, I do have a 3 yr old little boy, who is wonderful. I think that is why I really want to have another biological child so bad. Not that adoption is out of the question, but right now I have to exhaust all my options to have a biological child first, even though I know surrogacy or adoption would probably be the way to go. Anyway I will wait and see what Dr. Berger has to say and make me desicion after that. Anyway, I am very sorry for your pain, unfortunatly we all have it and that is why we have this support group. Let me know if I can help you will any questions you might have. Take care, Gwen > - I think you're right. I think it may be time to say goodbye to > this doctor and get a second opinion. Guest guest
, I don't like the sound of this doctor either! I hate being pushed, and anyway is your ashermans that bad that there is no chance at all? Thought about changing doctors? You have made me understand one thing (I think). You know I was querying the other day if adhesions and scar tissue are the same or different things and you told me you asked and were told they are the same, well, I have just realised that maybe the adhesions are the type that you spoke about in your email being criss crossed across from one side of the uterus to the other which can sometime make the uterus "adhere". , I am going to ask you to answer some questions for me for this spreadsheet. I know you may have told me before but I don't have time to look through past emails and you know how confusing it is to remember everyone's info. Please confirm that you have had so far one laparoscopy and operative hysteroscopy only. And that he did not use any sort of balloon in this surgery. Did you have any placenta remains when you gave birth and did you have an infection? Have you been told where you have adhesions and scar tissue. I mean both uterus and cervix? Is your cavity open now? Do you know the measurement of your endometrium. Is it continuous or in islets? Thanks. Poly
Guest guest
, I agree that this doctor is history. You need to have a doctor who knows what they are doing and can help you make an informed decision. I wish you the best of luck with your upcoming appoinment with Dr. Berger. I pray that he can help you and be more informative. My prayers are with you! Guest guest
-Poly, Here is the answers to your questions. I have had 1 diagnostic hysterscopy, that is when I found out for sure I had ashermans, and that is when then preforated my uterus. Than I had a lap/hyster and no progress was made. He did not use any type of ballon or anything. I did not have any placenta remains, I had a fybroid after I delivered my son, which caused my to hemmorage so that is why I had the D & E. All I have my told is that my uterus is fused together I have no cavity at all. I do not know any measurements of my endometrium. Hope this is everything.
