Guest guest
Good Morning Everyone..... Hello Ann-Marie I'm so darn sorry that on top of everything else you have.... you have to fight a virus as well. I hope you start feeling better real soon. I don't know about getting an Academy Award for my piping ability but I should get it for my sheer stupidity for even trying. It's not easy to get down on the ground and it's really not easy to get back up. I'm really paying for it though. My legs are very sore and I feel like I've been hit by a bus. Ann-Marie....How many nuns are in the south wing? Are the rest of the nuns complaining about the heat? I do hope you start feeling better soon. Take care and rest. Gentle hugs Vicki
Guest guest
Vicki, Not everyone is quite as vocal as yours truly, but yes, the word is OUT. Some parts of the house are better. There are about 12 of us who sleep in the south wing, and 12 who sleep in the north wing.. I slept all afternoon...I still do not want to eat..a sure sign of an ominous presence! Take care and rest your poor leggies! Love, Ann-Marie _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

Guest guest
Its nice to hear from you again Jill, I hope the rest of your recovery will be speedy. It sounds like its been a slow healing time. Please take care of your self. & Petra Hello > Hi all, > > Many thanks to Beth for her help with the list of late and to all who asked what was up. I have a strep infection in my leg and it's been slow healing. Thanks to the wonders of home IV and great nursing care, my hospital stay was minimal. Things are improving but I have a sneaking suspicion today that 5 days of antibiotics may not have been enough, so time will tell. > > I hope that everyone is well and gearing up for their kiddies to return to school next week! > > Jill > > > >

Guest guest
Hi Arran, Welcome to you and Donna. We actually have a few members who are from Australia! We are glad to add to that contingency. I am sorry to hear about you being rushed to the hospital. I can only imagine how your emotions must be swimming with the suddenness of all this. I do really hope your biopsy comes back that you don't have IgAN, but if so, you have come to the right place. It is very important to keep your blood pressure in check because elevated BP is very hard on your kidneys. By chance, did they tell you what your serum creatinine level is? I sincerely hope that your kidney function is not too compromised at this point. You may want to check out www.igan.ca if the biopsy comes back that you have IgAN. It sounds like you have a precious family with two darlings at such fun ages to help you through this too. Again, we warmly welcome you to our group! Guest guest
Welcome Arran and ! I'm sorry to hear about your scare in the hospital! Let us know the results-I hope everything turns out well! If it's IGAN you have come to the right place. I joined this group just a few months ago and it has been very beneficial to me. You can ask any question and it's easier talking to these people than to the nephrologist! It's very scary at the beginning, especially the not knowing part, but things do get better! Even those members who are on dialysis and who have had transplants are doing well and have so much insight for the rest of us. I am married to and have to little boys who will be 3 in June and Craig who is 7 mths old. We live in Australia's Central Coast in NSW. I was rushed into hospital last week with high blood pressure after having found protein and blood in the urine. I also was given a biopsy and I am awaiting further tests. I have been given severe medication to try and get the blood pressure down. This has been a huge shock for everyone especially my wife. This is why I wanted to join this group for her as well as me. The not knowing is the scariest part at the moment. Thank you for taking time to read this, Kind Regards, Arran Steele >>

Guest guest
Ok, that explains it. Ace inhibitors are known to have a renal protective quality, as well as help to lower protein. I have been on Lisinopril for many many years for the same reasons. My BP has never been very high, but I take it for the renal protective qualities. Guest guest
Hi Ally, Yoiks! I just wanted to pop in to say hi. SLE plus IgA plus pregnancy sounds daunting (actually, four kids, let alone anything else, would have the best of me). When were you diagnosed with SLE? Is it the proliferative kind? My son has MPGN (not IgAN) and his docs are always turning to SLE patients as models for treatment. I'll check our your web site shortly. Just wanted to extend a warm welcome.
