Carol,

The only thing I can think of off-hand is to find a new source of

walnuts. I have never found a shell in ours. Maybe another

company/source would be a good idea.

Oh my gosh....

You know I was looking at the bag here for an address cause these are

Diamond brand walnuts I bought at Sam's.

Guess what??? They have BHT in CORN OIL added to preserve freshness!!!!

For crying out loud....

Good thing I this is the first time with these, so she has only had a

couple of cookies.

Am having the same problem with the pecans which I also buy at Sam's,

but they have nothing added.

What brands are you guys buying that you aren't getting any shells?? You

would have thought Diamond would be a good brand name. The pecans from

Sam's are from Young Pecan company.

Carol,

I buy mine at the HFS or at Kroger.

I have bought one bag of the pecans at Sam's and didn't find any

shells, but I will make sure to be very careful if I ever buy those again.

I wonder if you could put the nuts in a big funnel and sift out the

shells that way?

If you buy whole nuts, there will always be a few smashed ones, but

the shells should go out the bottom of a large funnel.

Just trying to think of ways to make sure the shells are out...
