P. Joyce,

I just read Tuesdays with Morrie, which is about a man with ALS. Very very good book. Written by Mitch Albom. I just read all his books and looooved them.

Joyce, Thanks for sharing this with us. God doesn't give us more than we can handle, He must know that you and your husband are strong, strong, strong!! How long have you two been married? When did things start up with the ALS. Has it been a slow progression? I admire your husband and I don't even know him. I admire you, too. Leanne--he is my ex-husband and the father of my children. He moved out in 1982 and remarried 3-5 years later (I don't remember the exact year). pink joyce Leanne Storch wrote: Joyce, Thanks for sharing this with us. Joyce D--I read Tuesdays with Morrie after I found out about Bruce's diagnosis. There is also a movie (made for TV?). Great book. Tough reading when you know someone with the disease. pink joyce Joyce wrote: P. Joyce, I just read Tuesdays with Morrie, which is about a man with

P. Joyce,

I saw the movie and liked it more than the book. Did you read The Five People You Meet in Heaven and For one more Day (my favorite of the three). My husband is reading his books now. I love to read.

Joyce and Re-Joyce!

Bud nursed his first wife through 2 years of ALS - that's what makes

this damn disease so unfair for him - her breath was the last

function to go. He was there for her every minute - HE is actually

my inspiration to be there for him.

I read Tuesdays with Morrie when it came out and made a commitment to

visit with an older family friend once a week - I celebrated my own

Thursdays with Mildred, for years. Wouldn't trade that time I spent

with her for anything in this world. She died in January (at 97!)

and I was fortunate enough to eulogize her at the funeral. I got to

know her on such a deep level - I owe a great debt to Mitch Albom and

his works. Mildred loved The Five People You Meet in Heaven - she

and I had both grown up in an amusement park, so we really related to

the book. I'm sure she is in a much bigger and better amusement park

now -

Love and light,

Joanie and Bud who finally fell asleep after our 4:30 a.m. cup o' tea!
