Guest guest
Amy, I don't know the answer, but I am wondering if taking some activated charcoal would be better than taking the Immodium. The activated charcoal would soak up the dying yeast and toxins. Are you eating enough simple carbs? Jody mom to -5.1 and -7.

Guest guest
Amy, When I started SCD with my son over the summer, I really didn't feel very good. I noticed that I felt better when I had a quesadilla or sandwich at lunch. So maybe for those people without serious gut issues, a little starch is needed. Doing this diet has given me a lot of energy. I never realized how all that starch and sugar was affecting me! Guest guest
Amy, Activated charcoal comes in a pill. You take it away from meals and vitamin/supplements. Otherwise it could soak up your nutrients. It should absorb the dying yeast and toxins that the dying yeast give off(from my understanding). I have never taken it personally, but have read about people giving to their kids when they were taking Diflucan or Flagyl. Can you explain how " greens " are contributing to the problem? What kind of " greens " ? Did you start at the beginning of the diet and eat all cooked foods and add foods slowly? Also, Elaine says that " weak tea " is okay. Not being a tea drinker, I am not able to give an answer on what qualifies as weak tea. Maybe someone else can help out with this. I don't think it has ever really come up with the kids.
