Amy,

I don't know the answer, but I am wondering if taking some activated

charcoal would be better than taking the Immodium.

The activated charcoal would soak up the dying yeast and toxins.

Are you eating enough simple carbs?

i know nothing about activated charcoal ... can you fill me in

(where to get it, how to take it, cost, taste, powder or pill,

etc...)?

i generally eat about 2 fruits per day (apples, pears, dates); the

greens seem to be contributing to my problem, so i've shied away

from the veggies a bit, but not altogether. and i'm drinking lots

of tea w/ honey, so getting some carbs w/ the honey in there. and

then there are the baked goods w/ the almond flour (zucchini

muffins, pumpkin cookies, peanut butter brownies, no dairy bread).

what do you think?

Amy,

When I started SCD with my son over the summer, I really didn't feel

very good. I noticed that I felt better when I had a quesadilla or

sandwich at lunch. So maybe for those people without serious gut

issues, a little starch is needed. Doing this diet has given me a

lot of energy. I never realized how all that starch and sugar was

affecting me!

Amy,

Activated charcoal comes in a pill. You take it away from meals and

vitamin/supplements. Otherwise it could soak up your nutrients.

It should absorb the dying yeast and toxins that the dying yeast give

off(from my understanding). I have never taken it personally, but

have read about people giving to their kids when they were taking

Diflucan or Flagyl.

Can you explain how " greens " are contributing to the problem? What

kind of " greens " ?

Did you start at the beginning of the diet and eat all cooked foods

and add foods slowly?

Also, Elaine says that " weak tea " is okay. Not being a tea drinker, I

am not able to give an answer on what qualifies as weak tea. Maybe

someone else can help out with this. I don't think it has ever really

come up with the kids. :)
