Guest guest
I had an MRI about a week and a half ago. My doctor called today to give the results and gave me good and bad news. The good news was there was absolutely NO sign of MS or any problem with my brain EXCEPT, and this is the bad news, at the base of the skull, my brain has herniated. This explains for the extreme headaches I have had in the past, the pain, the tingling and numbness, everything, but this does mean another surgery for me. They gotta go in and fix it. It may fix everything in one surgery, and that would mean no more pain, no more problems, and I could go back to fencing and horseback riding and soccer like I used to do!!!! I am so excited that it is a fully fixable problem. It makes me wonder what would have happened if the first doctor I went to about this problem back in 2003 had actually listened and had not just said 'Oh, you have weak muscles; here's some pills, and go to physical therapy. " If he had listened and done the tests, maybe I wouldn't have gone thru all this pain these last nearly seven years. But one can't fix the past. I'm just glad it is something that can be fixed. I'm a bit worried about having brain surgery, but I know I'll be put in capable hands. ~Jewel
