Guest guest
Dear All, On Friday 4th May. I finally got a blood test for VitD.It had taken 8 weeks of pushing to get this simple test done. It was incredible how difficult it was to have such a test authorised. My GP refused, said I should wait till I next see my onco, my urolgist refused, saying he wasn't sure it would be beneficial....and then I had to twist the arm of my Onco until he finally gave in just last Monday.I was all set to book a private test at our local Nuffield Hospital. Even when I got to my oncology unit, my specialist nurse went on and on about how unhappy the onco was about me having the test, saying that an endocrinologist had questioned whether I should have it too. Well, what a great fuss about a simple test. They gave me no valid reason for their reluctance. All I wanted was to see if I needed to supplement with pure and simple, cheap Cholecalciferol tablets. Can anyone here explain why I had such a battle over this? Has anyone else been refused? I would certainly be very onterested to hear, because the whole thing has me baffled...and suspicious. I have to wait 2 weeks for my results. Best Wishes,
