Hi Ladies

My name is Angie and I am a 33year old virgin who was

just daignosed with large fibroids. So far I have had

a sonagram and I am scheduled to meet with the doctor

next Wed (9/5). I am afraid, alone and I need help

with finding info and doctors who will listen to my

needs. I hope to marry and have kids. I am the state

of land.

Angie,

If you plan/want to have kids someday, I think the only option you have is

abdominal myomectomy. Ask your dr. if he's performed these before. If so,

how many per month, year, how many years. Make sure you find an experienced

dr. (It's kind of like making sure your pilot has flown many times, more

than once a month.)

- Good Luck

Hi Angie,

My name is Angie, and I too just found out I have fibroids. Unfortunately,

it was through an ultrasound to see the first picture of our first baby. We

saw the baby, but also saw a fibroid that wouldn't fit in the whole screen.

At 23 x 14 cm, they compared it to the size of a 5 month fetus. I have two

others, but both are a small 3 cm compared to this one. I'm going through

some tough times myself, as this fibroid could pose a great risk to my

pregnancy. A c-section is the only way I can have this baby, as the fibroid

is positioned over the cervix. I surely know what you're going through.....

I'm praying I will be able to hold on to this pregnancy and have a " normal "

baby. The doctors I am seeing have given me just about every scenario that

can happen in the next 5 months, to help me be as prepared as I can. It

sounds like after the c-section, or before I get pregnant again, I have to

have a myomectomy, in hopes a future pregnancy will not be high risk. It is

great that you are getting informed and taken care of now, rather than

finding out when you're pregnant (and without health insurance, as I am!)

Take care. You're certainly NOT alone!
