--- I checked this out. Two educators are very close to me. Will

have to check it out.

Also saw that s has the V8 Splash with Splenda now. Have not

seen it here though. I emailed them to see if they know where it is

sold if around my area.

Hi Belinda,

Welcome to the group. I had high cholesterol until I changed the way I was

eating. All I did was start eating smaller portions, along with exercise.

Losing 50 lbs helped me also.

Hi my name is Belinda and my husbands name is Cliff he is 47 yrs

old...We just found out thursday that he is diabetic, his sugar is 217

and his cholesterol is 249... His doc wants to put him on libatal sorry

i am sure its not spelled right...for his cholesterol but that he can

try a diet for 3-6 months first..This is our first time for us even

through his sister has it and so does my mom and sister...I would like

to thank u all so much for the information..It is so helpful..and i will

prob ask alot of question...If anyone of u has high cholesterol also

please tell me what u eat...we just don't know yet...We go back friday

to see the doc again maybe then we will know something more....THANK U

My cholesterol has slowly decreased over the last three years with good

blood glucose control yet I probably eat more fatty foods than before

and minimize the carbs. I'm not a fan of extreme diets - all things in

moderation! Every year we get a cow, all cut and wrapped in little

white packages, from my sister to hand raises organic beef. It is

wonderful meat. That combined with a buffalo roast every now and then

keeps plenty of red meat flowing through the system.

I went to a diabetes educator one time early on in this learning process

- she looked over my diet and blood sugar readings and said " You need to

eat more fat. " My doc nearly fainted when he heard that. But...it has

proven to be good advice in my case. Fats are converted slowly by the

body whereas carbs cause a rapid spike in blood glucose - so as long as

the cholesterol continues to fall and be at tolerable levels, I'll

continue to consume those little white packages of exquisite meat.
