Guest guest
>>>GEORGE WROTE>>>I gained 3.75 lbs. No exercise. No water. What's wrong with me? Oh, , nothing is wrong with you. You're human, just like the rest of us. Do not beat yourself up over this. Today is a new day, begin it well. You'll have to go back and reread one of 's previous posts "Small Changes That Will Make a Big Difference". There are some very useful tips in there. This battle to lose and keep off weight, for many of us, may be one of the biggest challenges that we ever face. BUT WE CAN DO IT! We can look back at our mistakes and learn from them, but we cannot continue to beat ourselves up over them. Look at any successful athlete, actor, inventor, etc. and know that they suffered low points, too. The key to their success is that they didn't give up. Okay, for instance, the brothers... how many failed attempts did they make at flying?? Did they look back at all of their failures and feel defeated? I doubt it. With each failed flight, they probably reflected on what didn't work and why, and then set about making changes to their plans. We have to do the same thing with our weight loss attempt. You've reflected on the past week and you realize that you didn't exercise and didn't drink enough water, so what are you going to do about it? You've got to PLAN...and make a plan that you can stick with. If you just don't like to exercise, then you've got to fine alternate activities that give you exercise. See part of 's "small changes..." post below that I copied and pasted. As far as water, if you don't like drinking it--TOUGH!! Get some rubberbands...put eight of 'em on your wrist every morning. After each glass of water that you drink, take one off. I guarantee you that you'll get so tired of sipping water that you'll just start chugging em'. Another idea might be to put four on each wrist. Drink four glasses before, say 1 p.m., and then start on the other wrist in the afternoon. If your problem with exercise and water stems from lack of motivation, then you need to reassess your goals and reasons behind them. Your biggest motivator should be knowing that YOU ARE WORTH IT. Have a great weekend. Janet Small Exercise Changes*Take the stairs every single time they're an option. No more elevators or escalators. *Make exercise a priority, not an inconvenience. *Park far from your destination, so you're forced to walk — this works at the supermarket, the mall, wherever. (This also helps you waste less time looking for a parking space!) *View tiring chores (shoveling snow, cleaning the house, weeding the garden, taking the garbage out, grocery shopping) as a chance to get in some activity. *Take the grocery cart back to the store when you're done loading your bags into your car. *If you take public transportation, get off one stop early. Work out with a buddy.
Guest guest
Carolyn, Sorry about your gain but stay on track and that loss will come. Sometimes that darn old scale just don't like to go down even when we know we deserved a loss. You know what has to be done and I know you CAN do it.
