Guest guest
By all means, tell him to stop the bleach treatments!! I would try a colloidal silver soak to stop any exterior fungal infection. You could try the peroxide thing as well, pretty much anything but bleach or isopropyl alcohol. He needs to keep his feet dry whenever possible. Try cornstarch or even one of the powders available to keep feet dry. He must also change his diet or else it will forever return feeding on all of the sugars and carbs. Ken -- [ ] foot fungus My uncle has been soaking his foot in bleach for foot fungus. Is there something I can tell him to use? He is not into the diet thing very much since he is single and doesn't cook too much. I was thinking maybe he should soak in peroxide and Epson salts. Guest guest
Hi Betty, Bleach....brrrrr! Your uncle is setting himself for big trouble. That stuff is so toxic! Is there anyway this could be conveyed to him? The only real solution is to follow Bee's diet, since candida-feeding foods are the culprit now. - As a start and as an alternative to bleach: At betime, your uncle could apply tea tree oil on his feet after washing them, - as well as dabbing the oil in his footwear at night and let it sit overnight; - having several pairs of footwear and changing them every day; - Also, disinfecting the socks he wears thoroughly: soaking the socks separetely in undiluted vinegar might do the trick as an alternative... since it is not ingested, thus not feeding the candida; - and then washing thoroughly, separately. - Note: Anything that touches the foot fungus (clothes, towels, bed sheets, socks, footwear, etc.) must be stored, disinfected and washed separately from ordinary laundry. Hope this helps, Fran > My uncle has been soaking his foot in bleach for foot fungus.

Guest guest
I am going to keep working on him. Not sure where he heard to soak his feet in bleach. Maybe his step daughter will advise him not to do that. He has been pretty sick with pneumonia over the course of several months. Which means he goes to the doctor for antibiotics and more medicines. He needs to get onto a good diet alright Betty Tees Stitches & Stuff tss2001@... [ ] Re: foot fungus Hi Betty, Bleach....brrrrr! Your uncle is setting himself for big trouble. That stuff is so toxic! Guest guest
Best of success with your uncle, Betty! It's unfortunate that he will be taking more antibiotics, which means more candidasis. Take care, Fran > I am going to keep working on him. Not sure where he heard to soak his feet in bleach. Guest guest
Bleach is terribly toxic as is chlorine in water & swimming pools. Earl Grey Tea is great for foot soaking. It pulls toxins out of the bottom of the feet & draws them down from the body. Epsom salt foot soaks are good too. Adding tea tree oil even better to address the fungus & even hydrogen peroxide which is an anti-fungal. I've used just the Earl Grey Tea foot soaks & could feel the difference afterwards. I never had foot fungus tho so didn't use it for that & can't comment on it. Caroline From: " fgourd " <fgourd@...> > Bleach....brrrrr! Your uncle is setting himself for big trouble. Guest guest
It's his own health that he is responsible for, therefore the choice is his. Remember, every little bit counts when it comes to changing his diet. He can't eat a salad once a day in place of a Twinkie? He can't eat wheat bread instead of white? He could incorporate new things one by one on a gradual basis instead of the shock one receives from all-at-once sudden carb/sugar avoidance. You can use Colloidal Silver on your skin. You can drop it in your ears for an earache. You can drop it in your eye for pinkeye(conjuctivitis). You can gargle it for pharyngitis. Anyone with dissension toward colloidal silver is uninformed to CS and it's uses and benefits. This group may discourage ingestion(drinking) of CS due to the fact that it is just as harmful to good flora as well as candida and other pathogens. However, taking probiotics 30 minutes after ingestion will help replace any good flora killed by the CS and should mitigate anyone's concerns involving ingestion of colloidal silver and it's effects on good flora. Guest guest
Dear Betty, I think Ken's idea of suggesting gradual changes to your uncle is great (even small ones, or even one at a time once in a while); your uncle might be more receptive to this... I also tend to agree with Ken about all this ultimately being your uncle's choice. Life has shown me that we can be there to suggest solutions, but ultimately, we cannot take on other people's lives; we can only take on our own, improve it, change it and ourselves for the better. The good news is that sometimes people notice the (health) improvements in us and want to know more about it, and even start making (small) improvements themselves. So I do hope you can get through to your uncle, while not being affected by his situation and not really giving up on him but being detached... (easy to say, how I know!..... :- ) Even small improvements are going to help his health. So anyways, these are some personal thoughts. ) I hope I am making sense. Guest guest
Sis . . . You might try washing your feet with a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution before putting Lamisil on them . . That should kill the surface stuff and give the antifungal a head start. I'd check with a pharmacist too . . Make sure your shoes are disinfected, and expose your feet to the air as much as possible. Fungus likes dark, warm, damp places. (like breast implants) Rogene auntsisnj <auntsisnj@...> wrote: Rogene,A few weeks ago, my husband and I went away and were around an indoor pool. I quickly got a foot fungus and for the last few weeks I've been putting Apple Cider Vinegar on my feet - but it seems to keep it at bay rather than make it go away. I bought tea tree oil and it smells so bad I can't stand it. I did buy some Lamisil and was afraid to use it because I wasn't sure if it would make my symptoms flare up or not. I think I will give it a try and see what happens, though, because I'm sure the athletes foot weakens me further.Sis> >> > Oh my God !!! Guest guest
Tea tree oil may or may not be useful or there is other ointments. Laser therapy with a laser devise used by podiatrist is advertised these days but may be over $1000. Perhaps a fellow DC has a class four laser [ not a cold laser] in your area and can try 1000 joules to the each great toe and 600 joules to each of the other toes for 5 visits close together.gregory Kahn DC Eugene From: "jchandlerdc@..." <jchandler@...> Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2012 7:48 PMSubject: Foot fungus I have a 63 yo male patient with patches of diagnosed fungus on his toes/MP area. He also has some toenails that are 'infested' with fungus (this has been for years). He has just begun soaking them in bleach. This can't be good! I have encouraged him to get off dairy and wheat, but he refuses. I have counciled him on the fact that his body will not heal this as long as the stress is still in place (and I don't know if the culprit is diet). He can only come in to be adjusted every 2-4 weeks. Doesn't seem to have a lot of mental stress. Past hx: was a smoker for about 45 yrs, quit about 2 yrs ago and the fungal patches on the skin surfaced after he quit smoking. Also retired about 1 yr ago from a labor job where he wore non-breathing boots all day.Suggestions on remedies, supplements? He is willing to take supplements, as he already takes a 'handful' of them every day. Thanks!Janell ChandlerVancouver
