,

My sister has lived in the Durham area for about the last 15 years. She and her husband live in Hillsborough now with their two daugters and Grace. Hillsborough is about 10 minutes west of Durham. I didn't realize you were from Raleigh. I really do love the whole area.

My sister is a physician at Duke so I obviously have a bias. It's a terrific facility and their interstitial lung disease program is amazing. They've also had tremendous success with their lung transplant program. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

By the way Miss , you are in my thoughts and prayers daily. Your courage is an inspiration!

Hello Everyone!

Just in case anyone was wondering... I'm still around. There are several hundred posts I need to catch up with so forgive my ignorance of what's been going on. I hope everyone is well and still "fighting the good fight".

It's been a hectic and stressful last couple of weeks. I spent some time in NC househunting with my parents. They decided to build a home in North Durham. That house will include a nice size apartment for me! The builder claims the house will be ready by November 1 but I'll be happy if we're in by Christmas. On that trip I also visited my son in Boone, NC to see his new apartment. It looked a bit like a dirty laundry bomb had gone off but that's the mom in me talking. In addition to that, my son was back here in NY for a few days, my niece graduated from Rutgers amd life just keeps moving on.

I've been feeling pretty good all things considered. I still have alot of muscle and joint pain. It's fairly well controlled with ibuprofen but I'm pretty miserable when I first get up in the morning. Once I get moving, I can cope but it's that first hour or so that's really unpleasant.

My breathing has been good. I have no complaints in that regard. My sats stay stable as long as I've got the O2 set appropriate to my activity. I'm nearly one year out from diagnosis and am thrilled to have stayed as stable as I have. I'm very fortunate in so many regards. My family consistently blows me away with their support and generosity. My younger nieces and nephews provide entertainment and try very hard to look after me. When I was at my sister's in NC I had a concentrator with me. This item fascinated my nieces and they we constantly checking it to make sure it was set properly. One day three year old Gracie came to me in the family room and asked, "Aunt Mare can I twist your marble". I was somewhat startled and asked her to show me what she was talking about before I answered. She led me to the concentrator of course

and was referring to the little steel ball that shows the liters per minute. I've been laughing about it ever since.

That's enough babbling from me. I just wanted to say hello, I'm back and I hope and pray that everyone is well.

Love,

Don't try to explain it, just nod your head.
