I' m wondering why you all have larger scars and not the three small

incisions. Is it because you all had ruptures? Did anyone have the 3 small

ones and have a rupture?

Just curious.

Hi, . I did not rupture the first time, but did the second, and had the

same incision both times. It was the same surgeon and he cut right on top of

the old scar. It's about an inch longer this time, though, and I figured

that was due to the fact that it was a rupture.

,

I have the lap scar at the bottom of my navel, and the lap scar across my

pelvis. I didn't have the third lap incision. Remind me, when was your lap

part done (the laporoscopy)?

Take care,

Krista

I had a laparascopy about 2 years ago for what the doctors thought was

endometriosis - they ended up removing my appendix (this is when I switched

doctors) anyway, the surgeon this time, made 3 totally different incisions -

so that makes a total of 7

dear Karin

I had a laparoscopy and a laparotomy to remove my ectopic. My incision is

about 15centimetres long(i have no idea how many inches, in south africa we

only work in centimetres.)I had no rupture. I am still not sure why the

doctor did both.Maby a laparotomy is faster in a emergency? so now i have 2

scars, one in my bellybutton and one on my abdomen.

take care

Sonja

Hi guys!

I am not back online permanently by any stretch of the imagination (computer

probs of a software nature here) but I managed to jerry-rig things enough to get

me on for a few minutes today.

I want to welcome those of you that have joined during my hiatus. I suffered a

ruptured EP in November '98 at 9 weeks. Tara, your story sounds very similar to

mine...they had to replace a lot of my blood and stabilize me bfore they could

even move me from ER to surgery. I was having convulsions that came with waves

of pain that rocked my whole body. I was pretty out of it though...don't

remember too many details...but I do remember that they were basically trying to

start surgery while they were moving me onto the operating table. I was not

long for this world at that point I think. I will repost my story when I am

back permanently or you are welcome to check the archives or my website if you

are interested in the details before then.

Krista, my incision is probably as big as yours or bigger. It runs from just

under my navel down to my pubic bone (vertical). I do have a belly to get

around (I am overweight) but still, it is a long incision. It is starting to

fade at this point, so it isn't red and ugly anymore...almost the same color as

my skin...just a little pinker. What surprised me, although I guess it

shouldn't have knowing anatomy like I do, is how low it was. I never thought

about it being vertical or long. I hated it at first. I couldn't even look at

it, even though it is not my first surgery or biggest scar. It doesn't bother

me much anymore except it still upsets me when my husband touches it or pays

attention to it. It's as if I realize then that he is contemplating HIS loss and

I can't deal with that. I can handle my loss and my grief, but I feel

responsible for having " done this " to him. Irrational, I know, but I have not

been able to shake those feelings totally as of yet.

I have never seen a recent c-section scar to have anything to compare it to...my

Mom's c-sections were 30 years ago and they are vertical and HUGE! They

literaly cut her from stem to stern.

Well, I will close this for now. I hope to be back regularly soon. I miss you

guys!
