Yes, I am going back to work next Tuesday after 9 long months on disability. I am only working until 2:00 every day though so it wont be too bad. Woke up yesterday morning with a virus that sent me to the ER for most of the day. Was throwing up a ton of blood and it scared the hell out of me. They put a NG tube up my nose and down in my stomach (while I was awake no less) and pumped everything out and gave me three prescriptions. It was the worst thing Ive ever had someone do to me I swear !!! Feeling much better today but they think that I may have a bleeding ulcer from all the prednisone so I have to go to my doctor tomorrow and see what they want to do. Guest guest Posted December 27, 2000 Report Share Posted December 27, 2000 Good Morning, I hope everyone is resting up and taking this time to simply recharge all the batteries, and reflect. I'd say our Christmas Day here went well, all in all. Had 9 people here- all family. Lots of work and lots of food prep and clean-up, but it still was nice. I did overdo it- and one would think I'd learn by now! Got in a nice long nap yesterday though. Elaine, do you think your pain is mostly from fibro, or are you unable to tell? Have you heard from Fern and if she made it through Christmas OK? , I am thinking of you too and so wish you the best and hope for getting better. , are you still planning on going back to work next week and how are your legs? I spent an hour and 45 minutes yesterday morning trying to return a chafing dish my husband had rented from a party supply place in the city of Kingston- about 20 minutes from my house. Picture this- lost in a maze of little one way streets, spending an entire half hour desperately trying to FIND this place- going down one way streets the wrong way, amongst a fair amount of traffic, people getting miffed at me, and me getting more and more panic-y! There wasn't even a place for me to pull off and stop and ask someone and i had no idea even what direction I was going in after a short while! I did follow my husband's " easy " directions............ nuf said. I ended up asking God to please get me out of this maze so I could just go home! So- the chafing dish did not find it's way to ITS home. My husband arranged to go into work a bit later this morning so he could take the @$#^^%%$ thing back. It's funny now, but I as almost in tears then. And my legs got stiff driving in the car. I have one little request- as well as praying for those in the group, could you guys please send up a little prayer for another kitty of mine? She is failing and not eating and getting weak- she is the wild kitty i tamed after a year of patience and is the sweetest thing and she has had this chronic, autoimmune mouth disease- she had bloodwork done yesterday and I do not expect any good news- oh ye of little faith- but this is so hard for me after just losing my beloved old kitty. Teddi is right, the spray they use to numb your throat before you fall asleep is not the best tasting .... I think it's strange that your stomach had not been upset before you went to the ER. My father had a bleeding ulcer and he would have a upset stomach off and on for about a week... then he would start to throw up the blood. I'm eager to find out what it is... He is going to do the procedure on Tuesday morning at the hospital. I have to be there at 6:30 am. Anyone want to take my place ??? Im a chicken !!!! Bok bok bok bok !!!!! I am going back to work on Thursday the 4th of January. Originally it was the 2nd but this little procedure pushed it back a tad. Feeling great today. I had not only the upper done but the lower as well on the same day.....They thought I would be out longer but I woke up half way through the procedure of the lower tract....
