Thank you, that's what I'm hoping for!

Re: allergy shots?

I just had to share my experience with allergies as your sons allergies

are similar to mine. When we started my allergies were very severe in

spring, fall and winter. I couldn't touch cats without breaking out in

a rash but by the fall when my seasonal reaction failed to appear I was

amazed and since there have been no other life changes I can only assume

it is the diet. So eventually as the gut heals you may be able to ease

off the shots. I know that I have not had to take an antihistamine

since April which is remarkable for me as I would often have to take 2

and still take to my bed. Maybe after 6 months or so on the diet you

could have him retested. I just thought I would say if you let the diet

do its job the results can be quite unexpected.

Lovely to hear about those peas.

This is nothing more than my opinion, so please take it as that. Allergy

shots, my daughter went this way for a while and also had to take many different

types of meds etc to control all of this, and she was constantly in the drs

office for colds, flu and everything else as well. When I started the journey

for her recovery of autism, I found the gf/cf diet. Once we started this diet it

seemed that her needs for meds and shots seemed to diminish and she has been med

free since then. I would be curious and feel that SCD could and would probably

have some of the same effects (I would ask Carol to send you her " story " , she

dealt with some of this as well). I'm not saying go off completely, but

depending on how long you've been SCD, maybe you could slowly taper off and see

what that does.

Just a thought. Like I said my opinion, and I have a real issue with

mainstream medicine and drs, due to thier lack of looking at the body as a

whole, and just the symptoms.

Have any of you had to deal with your children receiving allergy shots? Luke

gets them once a week. He tested positive last fall (before SCD) for just about

everything: molds, trees, cats, dogs, horses, eggs, milk, NOT NUTS (thank

God)... the eggs and milk had me baffled because he's never had a SINGLE

reaction to them. Well, with SCD, I'm letting him have the eggs and cheeses -

his Dr says as long as he doesn't react it would be fine to give them, that the

test just showed a histamine reaction but Luke has no actual reaction. Which

makes me wonder what that test even means? The shots HAVE seemed to help in the

sense of the molds/trees/etc, he has not gotten croup or any type of respiratory

infection yet this fall or winter, which is a first in his life. So I see the

benefit on that side of things. Just wondering if you all continued this type

of treatment as you did SCD or what? The medical Dr's think this kind of thing

(dietary intervention) is " fine to try " but don't put much stock in it, that is

for sure, so can't get much direction there.

Thanks for any feedback,
