Guest guest
Pam: Are you taking your temp at the same time each day? Are you taking your temp before you move or sit up in bed? Are you taking your temp after at least four hours of uninterrupted sleep? Are you checking CM throughout the day and reporting the " average " ? If you answered " no " to any of these things, that can affect your charting. Otherwise, that is just your body's " norm " . Mine varied from month to month...sometimes it would be a lot of ups and downs and sometimes pretty even. I never have any clear CM at all...it is creamy for most of my cycle. I also do not have a temp " dip " before the rise that indicates ovulation. How long have you been charting? Once you have done it a few months (and it seems like you have) you will get an idea of what is " normal " for you. If I were you, I would start the opk's on about day 14 and continue from there...you may have to use a couple of packages if you O later this month than earlier, but that way you would be sure to catch it if it were early. Do you have Taking Charge of Your Fertility? That is the best book for info on charting! Hope this helps you
Guest guest
Pam, Boy, that sounds just like me and my dh too! Glad to know we're not the only ones. I, too, have had success with the OPK. I tried one when we were first ttc but that was like a science experiment. You had to mix the urine in a little glass tube then swish it so it mixed with some stuff at the bottom, then you poured it into a little cup so it drained through the center then waited ten minutes. That one never worked for us and it took us 5 months to have a child. (I think it happened when I didn't care any more because of the stress) The next time (my ep) we did it the first time I used a new OPK. One month was all it took. Now, I'm dealing with one good side and other problems but it could always be worse. By saying that to myself, it has helped put things in perspective. Guest guest
Pam, I began taking my temps on the 15th. This was the 15th day of my cycle and it was 97.0 The next morning on the 16th, it went up to 97.8 On the 17th, it went up to 98.0 and has stayed there. Today (the 19th) it went up to 98.4 At first, I thought the 97.8 was an error, but when I went to 98, I thought that the 97.0 was before I ovulated (or the day of) and the 97.8 was postovulatory. But I haven't thought too much of it until now. I've been going to bed at the same time, and taking the temps at the same time in the morning. The only dif is on the 15th and 16th, I was reaching for the thermometer myself, and since the 17th, dh and I switched sides of the bed and he's been getting it for me. At first, I freaked out this morning thinking that maybe I just now ovulated instead of around the 14th/15th. But that would be too late for my usual 27 day cycles. That is why I decided to see what I could find out about a second spike. If you can give me info about this, I would be SOOOOO grateful/greatful (sp?). Thanks. Guest guest
Dawn, I didn't mark it down but let's see if I can remember. I think it was the 10th, 11th, 14th, and 15th. I planned to for everyday, but I never stick to my plans so .... At least I know he had enough troops built up on the 14th!!! Amy
Guest guest
I have read that some women have a second spike when they are pg. How long has it been since your temp first went up and exactly what were your temps each day? TCOYF has a section on this and chart examples. Guest guest
Dear Amy, WOW we are on the exact same cycle. Does that mean that AF showed up on Jan1 so you are insync with the calendar, if so I am too. I have a 32 day cycle though so ovulation occurs for me on day 17/18 which was Monday evening when I felt the cramping. I don't chart so sorry I can't help. I do use the clearplan fertility monitor and that helps a lot!! Well let me know, that will make the waiting more bearable if someone else is doing it too. Guest guest
Amy, I think you O btwn the 15 & 16. To move up .8 is the significant rise you are looking for. Just to let you know about me, after I O, sometimes my temp drops down below the coverline and raises again the next day. I have seen several spikes of more than .4 degrees each cycle after O as well. Hope this helps. Tara Re: ttc Pam, I began taking my temps on the 15th. Guest guest
Amy, You probably ovulated on the 15th. I only started charting last month and the day I " O " my temp dropped down to 97.0 and then started to climb up the next day. After that it stayed in the 98's and varied. Some days it was down to 98.0 and some days up to 98.6 but it never dropped under 98.0. On the day AF was due, it was still in the 98's so I knew she wasn't coming that day. When did you say you bd?
