yes, I took fish oil for a while, and then I had to stop taking it for other

complications and it did give me a fish smell. I'm glad I don;t need to take

it any longer.

ELVIRA,,,,,thabnks for the info,,,,the omes she take has omega 3 on it,,,but

that isnt the name brand thou,,,,,maybe it is one of the other 8 pills she is

taking that is making that bad smell then,,,,who knows,,,i will ask the dr

about it on the 10th when she goes back,,,thanks,,,,crystal

I would like to assure you that I take 6g of fish oil pills every day

for 10 months and nor me or my family and friends noticed any bad

breathe at all ( I have asked LOL) . I take fish oil pills called

OMEGA 3, but it's the brand I can buy here in Poland - where I live.

Hope that you can find a brand that will be good for your doughter.

It's fish, it smells. I think some people don't digest it as well as others.

I've also read somewhere that if it smells, it may not be the freshest. The

fatty acids in fish oil are very volatile, and so they go rancid very

quickly and easily, even in the packaging and the gelatine capsules.

Preferably, buy fish oil that is stamped with a expiry date.

One thing you could try is keeping them well refrigerated, and having them

taken BEFORE eating, with water, so that they don't dissolve in the upper

digestive tract. Some people keep them in the freezer for this purpose,

although I'm not sure I would recommend that for a child.

I've had different results with different brands of fish oil capsules. I've had

some that made my breath smell like a pier at low tide, while others give me no

noticiable odor.

Try different brands and see what happens!

When I took fish oil I had what I called 'fishy burps', and it did

smell really bad, as soon as I stopped taking them it went away.
