Guest guest
Hi again - Mom and I are making up our big shopping list for tomorrow morning, then cooking all weekend. We both feel like we KNOW we've seen SOMEWHERE on the site or in an email, that V8 was okay? But the book says illegal? Is there some other form of V8? Reason is, we thought why not use something like that to simmer down into tomato sauce instead of just canned tomato juice, another way to get veggies in them. Of course it has to be legal, that's the whole point. Thanks for any clarification! oh - I know it sounds like we're not exactly following the intro diet, that's because we're not. Luke's diarrhea is not unmanageable at this point, he's actually gotten kind of firm and told me today, " It IS better! " which was a joy to hear. So, while it may not be best, we're not following the intro diet as much as going about this in such a way to replace foods he currently eats with SCD legal alternatives, then bring in new things. Hope that makes sense.
Guest guest
As far as I know, V8 juice is illegal. See www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info, Legal/Illegal list. -- Sue, mom to Adam and You wrote: We both feel like we KNOW we've seen SOMEWHERE on the site or in an email, that V8 was okay? Guest guest
Michele, You have to do what you think will work for your child, but I would really recommend two days of the intro even if there isn't D. It gives the system a chance to rest and heal. Go slow and add new foods according to BTVC. Foods should be peeled, seeded and cooked. Starting with foods that are more difficult to digest will not give you very quick results. Several people have just gone to all legal foods, but then really wished they had started from the beginning. When they went back and did the intro diet, they saw much better progress. The diet is written the way it is for a reason. It is a diet that is one that heals as it goes. Starting with the easiest to digest foods and adding more gradually. It's more fun to eat nut muffins, but it's not easy on the system. It won't hurt for you and your mom to make a lot of stuff. The baked goods can be frozen and used later. But this diet is really much more effective if you start at the beginning, if at all possible. Jody mom to -5.1 and -7.4 And V-8 is illegal. But you can make your own by juicing veggies and adding it to the tomato juice.
