Guest guest
Hi everyone. I am new to the group and in kind of a dilema. I was just recently diagnosed with ( " Grossly degenerated disk disease and 2 bulging disc's-L4 & L5, and also L5 & S1.) I was given 3 options. They were, Shots, physical therapy, or surgery. I chose the first 2. Well I had the 1st, shot around Thanks Giving, and the 2nd one around Christmas. I went to my doc last week Fri.01/16/2009 and I felt fine. But then this week for some odd reason, the pain tripled. I called the doc and got in to see him today, Fri.01/23/2009 I told him the pain tripled since last week. I have not gone any where or done anything to exert myself except go grocery shopping. I am disabled with other health issues. I was working 24 hours a week, and went down to 6 hours every week. So 24 hours in a month. I am just sickened to think that I am going to lose my job because of something that was unpreventable. I have another shot coming up this next week. I think I might just cancel it and have the doc set up the surgery. He would have to fuse my back. I was wondering if anyone has had that done and what is the out come to it. How long would I be laid up and so forth. Please help. Thank you.
