Cashews stall me like crazy -- but they may not stall you. Actually peanuts and cashews and anything actually a legume (not a nut) REALLY stalls me. Actual nuts (like almonds, pecans, etc.) don't get me too bad as long as I don't overdo them. Hopefully the cashews don't hit you very much and the whoosh fairy sticks around! -Jeanie
Guest guest
I wasn't that hungry. I just bought what I usually buy. I have to learn to cook more but it takes too long and I don't cook roasts so am not sure how they would come out. My habits on this diet are not really that healthy. And I worry about it healthwise. Not saying lc is unhealthy, just saying the way I do it is unhealthy, not to mention that it stalls me out which is why I only lost 20 lbs. in a year. Oh blah. a corky Re: grocery shopping > > See, Kari, I never should have challenged you as I will probably go up and > get stuck now. > > a, > > You can still accomplish this goal. Guest guest
and cooking them in the oven is easier, just put the roast in the oven with the fat side up on 350 and cook 20minutes per pound and thats all there is to it. If there are drippings inthe pan I pour some cream into it and let it ccome to a rolling boil and then turn the heat down and let it simmer awhile and use that to pour over the meat. yummy... SueB. Guest guest
corky .roasts are easy. .you put them in a pot, brown them for an hour.( let them cook uncovered, i put soy sauce on for color) put some water in ( about a cup) and cover them for a few hours thats all there is to it.. i can talk you thru it if you buy a roast. then you have non processed meat to eat all week.. no slaving over a stove.. same with a chicken.. take out the stuff inside .. put it in a pot.. brown for an hour. add water, cover and cook at 350 and you have chicken to eat all week.. and most chickens have a pop up thingy to let you know they are done honestly not so hard . i know you could do it then all you need to do is cut up some meat over a bagged salad and you have a meal no work the rest of the week. catherine corky wrote: > I wasn't that hungry. Guest guest
A chicken I can do. But a roast you have to talk me through and I don't understand your directions below. FIrst of all what cut should I buy? And are you talking cooking the whole thing on top of the stove? Or brown on top and then bake in oven? I would love to get good at cooking a roast beef but it came out terrible when I tried. So help, please. I have cooked a good pork roast on occasion so am not completely dumb, but how do you brown for an hour? doesn't it get burned? thanks corky > corky .roasts are easy. .you put them in a pot, brown them for an hour.( let them cook uncovered, i > put soy sauce on for color) put some water in ( about a cup) and cover them for a few hours thats > all there is to it.. i can talk you thru it if you buy a roast. then you have non processed meat to > eat all week.. no slaving over a stove.. same with a chicken.. take out the stuff inside .. put it > in a pot.. brown for an hour. add water, cover and cook at 350 and you have chicken to eat all > week.. and most chickens have a pop up thingy to let you know they are done honestly not so > hard . i know you could do it then all you need to do is cut up some meat over a bagged salad > and you have a meal no work the rest of the week. > catherine > > corky wrote: > > > I wasn't that hungry. Guest guest
I cook my roasts in a crock pot with whole bay leaves, white vinegar, and s & p for seasoning. They are wonderful and pull apart with a fork. Susie __________________________________________________

Throw them in a crock pot with all the seasonings and forget about them for 5 hours. I make sure there is at least 2 cups of water in the crock pot in the beginning. I don't care if it cooks down. I use any cut of meat. The white vinegar helps tenderize a poor cut of meat.
